Rosé's album Rosie is inspired by her past
Hot Ones is a widely popular interview-based YouTube series created by Sean Evans and Chris Schonberger, and it’s produced by the food-focused media company, First We Feast. The show is known for its unique concept, where celebrities are interviewed while eating chicken wings with a lineup of hot sauces that progressively increase in spiciness, sometimes reaching extremely high levels on the Scoville scale.
Most recently, BLACKPINK’s Rosé joined the list of guests on Hot Ones, offering fans an emotional glimpse into her creative process and personal life. During the interview, she responded to questions from host Sean Evans, opening up about her journey and struggles as a solo artist and as a member of BLACKPINK.
At one point, Evans asked Rosé about her ideal creative environment in the studio, acknowledging that many songwriters are very particular about their surroundings while working.
Rosé shared, albeit with some hesitation, that she often finds her best creative sessions come from challenging periods in her life. She explained that these tough moments allow her to pour her emotions into her music, using the studio as a space to express feelings she might otherwise keep hidden.
“I don’t want to say this, but usually when I’m kind of, for me, it’s been like an experience of ‘wow, life has been pretty bad lately’. It’s always been the best sessions,” the singer shared.
Reflecting on her upcoming album, Rosie, she said,
“Literally this album is a representation of my past three or four years. And all the raw and honest emotions that I’ve never talked about before. It’s it’s just like a representation of that, and so it has a lot of my heartbreaking stories in there, and vulnerable emotions built into it. And so I think that’s the beauty of it. That’s what I like most about creating, [it’s] that you can take something not so great into something beautiful.”
Rosé’s new album, Rosie, is set to be released on December 6, 2024, and fans eagerly await its debut. They are excited to hear the stories and emotions woven into her songs, hoping to connect with the honest and personal narratives she shared on Hot Ones.
Ahead of her solo album drop, she released the single APT. with Bruno Mars last month.
