South Korean actor Lee Min-ho recently shared his thoughts on his future aspirations, including marriage and family. On August 23, 2024, the actor attended the press conference for his latest drama titled Pachinko season 2 at Grand Intercontinental Seoul Parnas in Samseong-dong. He was joined by other cast members, including Kim Min-ha, Youn Yuh-jung, Jung Eun-chae, and Kim Sung-kyu.
At the event, the actor shared valuable insights into his personal life during an interaction with the Korean media outlet Herald POP. The actor said:
"I think it's time for me to seriously think about marriage."
The 37-year-old Hallyu star has achieved remarkable success in his career, making him one of the popular faces in the entertainment industry. His portrayal of the anti-hero businessman Hansu in Pachinko has been exceptionally well-received, garnering significant acclaim from both critics and fans.
Lee Min-ho discusses his 18-year career and his plans for marriage
During the interview, Lee Min-ho discussed how his illustrious 18-year career positively impacted and stabilized his life. He expressed his heartfelt gratitude for the opportunities he had been given so far. However, moving forward, the Hallyu star talked about exploring new horizons beyond his current comfort zone.
"It's already been 18 years since my debut, and I'm so grateful for all the things that have kept me stable until now, and I think that I am who I am today because of those things," Lee Min-ho added.
He also mentioned his desire to undertake new challenges in the upcoming 15 years, potentially leading him to embark on different career paths. He emphasized his commitment to personal growth and development, acknowledging that this pursuit could include marriage and parenthood.
"When I look forward to the next 15 years, I'm trying to find opposites. I think I've started to think seriously about marriage and children. It's not that I want to get married, but it's time for me to seriously think about marriage," the Pachinko star added.
During the same conversation, Lee Min-ho highlighted the impact of Pachinko on his professional trajectory. He explained that he discovered this historical drama when he was seeking a new direction in his career. Lee shared that portraying a multifaceted character that required such emotional depth significantly influenced him and he would continue to do so throughout his career.
He added that working with such a diverse group of people from various linguistic backgrounds was also an enriching experience for him. For the unversed, Pachinko is a Korean-American series that follows the narrative of a Korean immigrant family in Japan.
"You could hear the languages of almost every country from all directions. There were many situations where I would speak in a different language and then come back in Korean," the actor mentioned.

Lee Min-ho rose to stardom with the teen romance drama Boys Over Flowers (2009), where he played the character of Gu Jun-pyo. This breakthrough role earned him the Best New Actor – Television trophy at the 45th Baeksang Arts Awards.
His other notable works include City Hunter (2011), The Heirs (2013), The Legend of the Blue Sea (2016), and The King: Eternal Monarch (2020). The drama is an adaptation of the 2017 novel of the same name, which is written by Min Jin Lee. Directed by Kogonada and Justin Chon, the narrative centers around the lives of Sanja and her family across four generations. In the show, Lee Min-ho's portrayal of Koh Hansu plays a crucial role in the narrative's progression, particularly in his connection with Sunja.
Moreover, the actor is also set to appear in the tvN drama Ask The Stars, which is scheduled for release in 2024. This drama will feature Lee Min-ho alongside actress Gong Hyo-jin.
