On Wednesday, August 14, BLACKPINK's Lisa released a teaser of her next track, ‘New Woman', made in collaboration with Rosalía. The teaser revealed that the music video for her track is directed by Dave Meyers. This became the topic of discussion among fans, as many found it as Lisa’s answer to haters amid ‘ROCKSTAR’ plagiarism claims.

After the release of her ‘ROCKSTAR’ solo hit in June 2024, the photographer and video director Travis Scott’s 'FEIN', Gabriel Moses, accused Lisa of copying elements from the song for her music video. Fans of Lisa were so offended that they asserted Dave Meyers had previously directed a music video for Kendrick Lamar's 2017 single "Humble" that featured comparable features. Therefore, Travis Scott’s 2024 music video 'FEIN' couldn’t be considered original as well.

In between this controversy, BLACKPINK's Lisa came out with her new song teaser, ‘New Woman,’ directed by none other than Dave Meyers. Seeing this, Lisa’s fans were thrilled and flooded the internet with their reactions, calling her smart move a clapback to the allegations. One of her fans even wrote,

"the Lisa karma is so real"

Many other responses from BLACKPINK’s Lisa’s fans were recorded online.

“Man that accusation aged like wine lol. I love seeing this”- said a fan.
“Haters think they win, but no no haters always lose...” Another Lisa fan wrote.
“a big slap to haters”- An admirer stated.

Another X user appreciated Lisa’s creative choice of working under the direction of renowned director Dave Meyers.

“Exciting collaboration, controversy over creative choices.”- commented an X user.
“God will always on her side”- said another Lisa fan.
“Majestic mountains stand tall, touching the sky with silent grandeur.” A netizen wrote.
