Love Next Door episodes 11-12 recap: Choi Seung-hyo and Bae Seok-ryu brewing romance
In Love Next Door episode 11, Seo Hye-suk went missing on the day of departure for Africa. Choi Gyeong-jong received this news from the police station as they found her luggage in the lost and found area. Choi Gyeong-jong’s intuition suggested that she had been forgetful and that it could be Alzheimer's disease.
Bae Seok-ryu and Choi Seung-hyo also reached the police station to look for Seo Hye-suk. Seo Hye-suk went to a temple she visited with her friends previously and realized she left her phone in her suitcase.
After searching for an entire day, they found her in the woods around the temple. This incident created an environment where Choi Gyeong-jong and Seo Hye-suk were more honest with each other. Choi Seung-hyo also told his mother that he had waited for her for a long time and that although he had grown up to be in his thirties, he still wanted her to be there for him.
The next day, Choi Seung-hyo went to Gangwon for a two-week business trip. Bae Seok-ryu heard the translation recording and discovered that Choi Seung-hyo said something in French about the banana milk and its expiry date. He said that even if the banana milk expired today, my love for you will not expire today, tomorrow, or ever.
By the end of Love Next Door episode 11, Bae Seok-ryu traveled to Gangwon Province and looked for Choi Seung-hyo with Yoon Myeong-woo's help. She found him in a sunflower field and confessed her feelings; he responded to her feelings with a kiss.
In episode 12 of Love Next Door, Choi Seung-hyo and Bae Seok-ryu returned together after staying overnight in Gangwon. Bae Seok-ryu's mom saw them in the neighborhood and asked her to go on a blind date. Jeong Mo-eum, who returned from an interview, also heard them talking about the blind date, but Bae Seok-ryu brushed the conversation aside.
Jeong Mo-eum swiftly realized that two of her best friends were finally dating. When she asked them about it, Choi Seung-hyo revealed it was true. Jeong Mo-eum stated that she knew they would end up together as they grew up together, and she had observed them all this while.
On the other hand, Jeong Mo-eum had previously apologized to Kang Dan-oh (Yoon Ji-on) for kissing him and asked him to move on as if it had not happened. However, after spending time with Kang Yeon-du, she realized that she liked him and she could not hide her feelings for Kang Dan-oh anymore.
During their camping trip, Jeong Mo-eum expressed how she felt for Kang Dan-oh and also stated she would love to be Kang Yeon-du’s mother. After hearing this, Kang Dan-oh was taken aback, and he rejected her feelings.
Meanwhile, Bae Seok-ryu was jealous and observed Choi Seung-hyo working with his ex-girlfriend Jang Tae-hui (Seo Ji-hye). She argued with Choi Seung-hyo about the same and asked him if he liked dating her. To this, Choi Seung-hyo replied that he did not want to discuss his past.
Later, in a conversation with Jeong Mo-eum, Bae Seok-ryu realized that she was harsh to Choi Seung-hyo even though she was fond of Jang Tae-hui. They hesitated to contact each other the whole day. Besides this, Choi Gyeong-jong and Seo Hye-suk learned that she did not have Alzheimer's disease but short-term memory loss due to stress. Choi Gyeong-jong also learned that Kwak Se-hwan (Jo Seung-yeon) was gay, who he assumed to be Seo Hye-suk’s paramour.
Later in Love Next Door episode 12, Bae Seok-ryu found Choi Seung-hyo feeding a cat on the street. This reminded him that he built a shabby house for a cat because of Bae Seok-ryu in high school. He stated that he was surprised that he made a house for a living, which inspired him to pursue architecture as a career.
Bae Seok-ryu stated that his first client was the cat, but Choi Seung-hyo corrected her, saying that his first client was her as he did it because she wanted him to. When they reached Bae Seok-ryu’s house, she told him that he treated her worse than before they were dating; however, Choi Seung-hyo stated that he was nervous because of her. Love Next Door episode 12 concluded with an intimate moment shared between Bae Seok-ryu and Choi Seung-hyo at her home.
