Love Next Door, starring Jung Hae-in and Jung So-min, aired episodes 13 and 14 on September 28 and 29, respectively, on tvN and Netflix. In episode 13 of Love Next Door, Bae Seok-ryu (Jung So-min) passed her Korean Food Craftsman exam. However, she was unable to find a job.

Choi Seung-hyo (Jung Hae-in), on the other hand, received the Best Architecture Award for his previous work on a restaurant. He asked Bae Seok-ryu to join him at the award show, but she declined, stating that she did not belong there.

Later, Choi Seung-hyo discovered that Bae Seok-ryu was searching for Culinary Degree courses in the US and was upset that she would leave again. Bae Seok-ryu explained that she also found it difficult, but she didn't receive any interview calls despite applying for jobs at many restaurants.

She felt embarrassed, so she asked him to give her space and suggested they should not meet for at least a week. By the end of episode 14 of Love Next Door, Bae Seok-ryu and Choi Seung-hyo were caught by their parents. The two had decided to keep their relationship a secret. However, their romance was exposed when they hugged each other on the street and their parents saw them.


Love Next Door Ep 13-14 recap: Bae Seok-ryu rejects Choi Seung-hyo's proposal

Episode 13 of Love Next Door shows Choi Seung-hyo at a hospital after a minor accident at a construction site where he injured his hands. When Bae Seok-ryu learned about this, she rushed to the hospital.

Although she decided not to see Choi Seung-hyo for a week, this incident made her anxious about him. Bae Seok-ryu realized that she felt inferior about her career progress, and that's why she did not want to see him, so she confessed that she loved him.

In episode 14 of Love Next Door, Choi Seung-hyo told Bae Seok-ryu she placed third in a healthy recipe competition. Bae Seok-ryu was unaware that Choi Seung-hyo had submitted her recipe for a competition. She stated that she always came first, but the third place for her recipe made her even more happy.

Later, Choi Seung-hyo planned to propose to Bae Seok-ryu, but his plans failed one by one. By the end of the day, he found the perfect time while filming a vlog for Bae Seok-ryu's cooking channel, and he proposed to her for marriage. However, she declined, leaving Choi Seung-hyo surprised.

On the other hand, Bae Seok-ryu and Choi Seung-hyo's mothers, Na Mi-sook (Park Ji-young) and Seo Hye-suk (Jang Young-nam), got into a serious argument. This was when Seo Hye-suk offered to pay for Na Mi-sook for their cruise trip, but the latter mistook her intentions and believed she was pitying her. They questioned their friendship and cut ties with each other in the heat of the argument.

By the end of Love Next Door episode 14, Bae Seok-ryu had brought Choi Seung-hyo home from a street food stall after he got drunk. He kept asking her why she rejected his proposal. Once he had sobered up, Bae Seok-ryu revealed she was worried about their future. She was also worried that she might not be around for a long time, as her cancer might relapse.

However, Choi Seung-hyo reassured her and told her he would like to spend his whole life with her, even if it was for a day. As he hugged her, Bae Seok-ryu saw both their parents who were in shock watching them together.


Kang Dan-oh confesses his feelings for Jeong Mo-eum.

In Episode 13 of Love Next Door, Jeong Mo-eum (Kim Ji-eun) learns that Kang Yeon-du (Shim Ji-yoo) is not Kang Dan-oh's (Yoon Ji-on) daughter but his niece. Kang Dan-oh's parents, brother, and sister-in-law: Kang Yeon-du’s biological parents passed away in a car accident a few years back. Since then, Kang Dan-oh decided to raise Kang Yeon-du like his daughter.

Kang Dan-oh had rejected Jeong Mo-eum before stating that he didn't like her. Later, he saw Jeong Mo-eum drunk at a convenience store and helped her reach home. Jeong Mo-eum’s mother Do Jae-sook (Kim Keum-soon) received her and apologized to Kang Dan-oh for causing inconvenience.

Do Jae-sook said that no one would accept her, implying that no one would date or marry her because of her behavior. At that moment, Kang Dan-oh said that he would accept her. However, Do Jae-sook was against their relationship as Kang Dan-oh had a daughter, and she wanted Jeong Mo-eum to live a happy life.

In Episode 14 of Love Next Door, Jeong Mo-eum told Do Jae-sook that she was sorry, but she would keep seeing Kang Dan-oh. Besides this, Kang Yeon-du gave Do Jae-sook a handcrafted flower, saying that she saw her unhappy and that she would wish for her to smile more.

Do Jae-sook realized that she was being harsh towards Kang Yeon-du, who she adored before, and after learning that Jeong Mo-eum is happy with Kang Dan-oh, she accepted their relationship.
