However, Yang Ho-jin took another offer given by headhunter Kim Hye-jin (Park Bo-kyung), who is Kang Ji-yun's rival, and left South Korea for a position in China. Ultimately, Yu Eun-ho also couldn't stop Yang Ho-jin.
Love Scout ep 1-2 recap: Yu Eun-ho tries to impress his boss Kang Ji-yun
In Love Scout episode 1, Kang Ji-yun met Yu Eun-ho for the first time when he interrupted her meeting with Yang Ho-jin at a temple. Kang Ji-yun did not seem to like him as he hindered her meeting, and she could not give him the documents either. Later, Yu Eun-ho set up a dinner plan with Yang Ho-jin and all of his colleagues. He spoke to Yang Ho-jin and convinced him to stay back.
The next day, Yu Eun-ho and the HR team were celebrating their win, but Chief Song Young-shik (Song Young-kyu) was not impressed with him. He treated him unfairly in front of his teammates despite not being at fault. It was revealed that Song Young-shik was taking revenge against Yu Eun-ho as he took paternal leave in the past.
Yu Eun-ho took time off to take care of his daughter Yu Byeol, who was having a hard time mentally. This was during a significant project he was working on with Song Young-shik. As Yu Eun-ho went on paternal leave, the project fell through, pushing Song Young-shik’s promotion behind.
After Yang Ho-jin departed Hansu Electronics for a job in China, Yu Eun-ho confronted Kang Ji-yun for encouraging him to take the job. Yu Eun-ho questioned her work ethic as he knew this would ruin Yang Ho-jin’s career. He received a message from Yang Ho-jin, who was at the airport, and without listening to Kang Ji-yun, he left.
At the same time, Song Young-shik held an audit to investigate Yu Eun-ho, accusing him of leaking information to conspire with Yang Ho-jin. It was revealed that Yang Ho-jin was scouted by Career Ways’ CEO Kim Hye-jin and not Kang Ji-yun.
On the other hand, Kang Ji-yun collapsed at her office due to overexertion. She was taken to the hospital by Seo Mi-ae (Lee Sang-hee) and Woo Jeong-hun (Kim Do-hoon). They learned that she had overused her brain and needed rest. By the end of episode 1 of Love Scout, Peoplez director Seo Mi-ae (Lee Sang-hee) introduced Yu Eun-ho as the new secretary of Kang Ji-yun.
In episode 2 of Love Scout, Seo Mi-ae's husband Lee Kang-suk (Lee Jeong-woo) referenced Yu Eun-ho, his college junior, for a job at Peoplez. The two were invited for dinner at Yu Eun-ho's place, where Seo Mi-ae realized he was best fit for the position of Kang Ji-yun’s secretary. He was reluctant to take the offer, but she increased his pay by 50 percent, among other suggestions, so he couldn't decline.
Kang Ji-yun was shocked to see Yu Eun-ho as her secretary and did not want to work with him, as he took away her client Yang Ho-jin while also misjudging her job as a headhunter.
Yu Eun-ho tries his best to get on Kang Ji-yun’s best side, but she does not pay attention to him. Later in Love Scout episode 2, Kang Ji-yun receives a new offer from a former client, who asks her to set up a team of new recruits for a project.
Later, Yu Eun-ho requests Kang Ji-yun to judge her as a secretary and also apologizes for his past comments. He showed that he was in dire need of this job and would do whatever she asked him to. He puts in effort to learn how Kang Ji-yun works and learn more about the position of good secretary and headhunting.
In Love Scout episode 2, Kang Ji-yun has a dream from her childhood where she saw that there was a fire in a building. Her father promised her that he would come back as he went inside the building. Seo Mi-ae noticed that her father's death anniversary was nearing, and she seemed to be sick this time around every year.
Yu Eun-ho took Kang Ji-yun for lunch as Seo Mi-ae asked him to watch her eat and make sure she did not skip any meals. During lunch, Kang Ji-yun asked Yu Eun-ho why he took paternal leave instead of focusing on his career. He replied that he wanted to see his daughter smile and fulfill his promise to stay beside her. Kang Ji-yun left the restaurant, asking him to eat by himself.
At the office, Yu Eun-ho noticed Kang Ji-yun was sick and offered her medicines, but she asked to not be nosy and refused to take them. She received a call from her client that her candidates for the new team had been backing out, and it was the third. The deal fell through due to this, and her client warned her that maybe someone was stealing her candidates.
Kang Ji-yun went to Career Ways to confront Kim Hye-jin as she realized that she would be the one behind her recent failed deal. Career Ways seemed to be Kang Ji-yun’s former workplace, where she was blamed for an employee's death.
Kang Ji-yun was dizzy due to her health and also because the employees were gossiping about her. By the end of Love Scout episode 2, Kang Ji-yun saw Yu Eun-ho running towards her in the corridor. As she is about to faint, Yu Eun-ho holds her.
