On September 22, 2024, BTS' Kim Seokjin's global impact and popularity were lauded by the leading journalist Alessandro Argentieri of Marie Claire Italy. The journalist posted an Instagram reel depicting a frenzied throng of BTS ARMY waiting at the Milan Fashion Week on September 20 to welcome the BTS idol.
Alessandro Argentieri wrote in his Instagram caption:
"#jinbts This reel is dedicated to all fans who yesterday have been waiting for #jin #jinofbts at the #gucci show. Yes, he’s a really charismatic and charming person. You can see how he hugs #sabatodesarno at the backstage #gucci #gucciss25 #mfw #triennalemilano"
Alessandro Argentieri's post went viral online, and fans flooded X. One ARMY (BTS fans) wrote,
"Seokjin making history everywhere he goes."
Notably, this was the first solo appearance of the Epiphany singer-songwriter at a fashion week. It was also his first visit after getting discharged from the military in June 2024.
When he arrived at the arena, a sizable throng erupted in his honor. The Grammy-nominated South Korean musician smiled and waved to the spectators outside the Piazza Gae Aulenti, Milan. Numerous reports state that while waiting for the BTS singer, supporters in Milan caused a traffic block.
Furthermore, during the event, the BTS idol was spotted seated next to Dakota Johnson and François-Henri Pinault—CEO of Kering Group, which owns Gucci. Later, Jin was spotted taking pictures with tennis star Jannik Sinner, actor Kingsley Ben-Adir, and Thai actor Gulf Kanawut.
Fans lauded the BTS ARMY for showing up at the Milan Fashion Week, wearing purple T-shirts and carrying the singer's cutouts to cheer for him. For the unversed, the color purple is the official color of BTS and its fandom.
"love that the armys are so loud and made it obvious that they were there for him," a fan wrote on X.
"Literally not even a Gucci show but a seokjin fanmeeting in Milan," another fan noted.
"And that's what matters in the end, he got a fat check, interacted with his fans and gagged journalists," one other fan said.
Others boasted with pride that they had seen the Epiphany singer-songwriter receive a warm welcome in Italy.
"Seeing myself and jin in the same video feels unreal I promise I will shut up abt this in a couple of days but rn I can still feel the giddiness of seeing him again so close," one fan commented.
"ONE OF THE MOST INFLUENTIAL PEOPLE OF THIS CENTURY KIM SEOKJIN," another fan praised.
"He could have whipped out a mic and just held a concert," another fan added.
