Marry You episode 5-6 recap: In-a attempts to separate Cheol-hee from his twins as events progress

The fifth and sixth episodes of Marry You were released on November 30 and December 1, respectively, via the Channel A network. This ten-episode drama features Lee Yi-kyung, Jo So-min, Koo Jun-hoe, and Ji E-su in the main roles, alongside a wide supporting cast.

In the previous episodes of Marry You, Ki-joon revealed the truth about what happened on the day he broke up with Ha-na. In the latest episodes, In-a went on a blind date with Cheol-hee. As the events unfolded, In-a began to see Cheol-hee’s twins as the hindrance to their future married life. Consequently, she tried to separate them by bribing Cheol-hee’s brother.

Marry You episode 5: In-a officially goes out on a date with Cheol-hee

The fifth episode of Marry You began with Ha-na and Cheol-hee standing outside the former's residence. They hurried to her car when the horn began to sound. After discovering that someone had vandalized Ha-na's car by scribbling "get lost" on it, they quickly summoned the police. Once the officers left, they continued to converse.

Cheol-hee told her that he was a firefighter five years ago and had a girlfriend. One day, while on his way to a rescue mission, his girlfriend called to break up with him, saying he never gave her time and was always busy with work. After completing his rescue effort, he learned that his lover had died in a car accident.

He also mentioned that he saved the chairman during the rescue operation, who invited Cheol-hee to meet him in the previous episode of Marry You. He confessed to having scars on his body as a result of saving the chairman. Ha-na told him he was a nice man, and the following day, she had her car cleaned.

Ha-na reached the office and met In-a, who requested that she set an official date with Cheol-hee. In-a showed interest in Cheol-hee.

Meanwhile, Cheol-hee visited the police station to ask them about the person who damaged Ha-na’s car. The police stated that they hadn't found anyone and suggested it could have been a prank.

Ha-na called Cheol-hee to inform him about his blind date with In-a. While getting the CCTV cameras repaired at Ha-na’s building, Cheol-hee agreed to meet In-a.

In the next scene, In-a and Cheol-hee went out for their blind date. Cheol-hee's niece and nephew were unhappy to see him with someone other than Ha-na. During their date, Ha-na seemed worried about how it was going.

In-a asked Cheol-hee about the future plans for his niece and nephew. It seemed that she wasn’t really interested in keeping the kids with her after their marriage.

Meanwhile, as Ha-na was returning from her singing lessons, she noticed someone was following her. It turned out to be Jeong Seong-chan, Cheol-hee’s friend, who was following her on Cheol-hee's request. Ha-na spoke to Cheol-hee on the phone and told him not to worry about her.

In the evening, In-a and Cheol-hee went for drinks at a bar. Ki-joon told Ha-na about this when he met her on her way back home. Curious about what was going on with Cheol-hee and In-a, she went to the bar and saw them laughing and getting close.

As she was about to approach them, Jeong Seong-chan stopped her at the bar. He asked Ha-na to go back home.

The next day, a police officer met Cheol-hee and showed him a closer picture of the masked man who damaged Ha-na’s car. Cheol-hee recognized him and rushed to Ha-na’s place. In the meantime, Ha-na received a parcel that was stuffed with Cheol-hee’s pictures with his previous girlfriend.

When Cheol-hee reached Ha-na’s house, he noticed that masked man outside her building and followed him. He was Cheol’s previous girlfriend’s brother, who was targeting Cheol-hee as he decided to marry someone else after his sister’s demise. He also targeted Ha-na because she persuaded Cheol-hee to get married while he was living his life on the island. Ha-na managed to convince him that his sister wasn’t forgotten.

In the last scene of Marry You, Ha-na and Cheol-hee were leaving together when they suddenly noticed Cheol-hee’s niece and nephew following a man.

Marry You episode 6: Ha-na rescues Cheol-hee's twins from being sent abroad

The sixth episode of Marry You started with Cheol-hee running after his nephew and niece, who he saw following a strange man in the previous episode. He soon found them sitting at the bus stop. The kids told him they had come out of the house to find him and said they weren’t following anybody. They all went home.

The next day, Ha-na went on a blind date with a man, and Ki-joon saw them together. They both reached the office, where the mayor entered and praised the Marriage Morale Boost Team members for their great work. He also wanted to go ahead with the marriage plans for In-a and Cheol-hee.

Meanwhile, Mr. Yang was acting strange, which made Ha-na grow wary of him. While following Mr. Yang in the grocery store, she met Cheol-hee.

He told her that he was there to buy things he needed to make dinner for In-a, as he had invited her over.

In the next scene, In-a arrived at Cheol-hee’s place, where they had dinner with his niece and nephew. In-a seemed a little disappointed as she thought of meeting Cheol-hee alone. After In-a left, Cheol-hee seemed concerned because she was repeatedly asking about the kids’ parents and their future.

Subsequently, the director entered the office of the Marriage Morale Boost Team to film a documentary on In-a and Cheol-hee's relationship. Mr. Yang seemed more enthusiastic about the documentary, which made Ha-na and Ki-joon more skeptical of him. They shared their suspicions about Mr. Yang.

In the next scene, In-a was shown shooting for the documentary at the cafe. After they wrapped up shooting, Ha-na left for her office but soon realized she had forgotten her phone at the cafe.

Ha-na went back and saw In-a talking with Cheol-hee’s elder brother. In-a offered money to his brother and asked him to send the kids away to study abroad. In-a managed to convince Ha-na that this was important for her marriage. Ha-na remained quiet, hoping they would get together after so she could return to her original department.

Another day, Ki-joon and Ha-na went grocery shopping, where she once again saw Mr. Yang talking to someone. They followed him but couldn’t get him. Soon, they found that Mr. Yang was securing a sponsorship deal for the Marriage Morale Boost Team from In-a’s father’s company.

Later, Ha-na received her transfer letter from the mayor as In-a and Cheol-hee were getting along well and were about to get married.

Towards the end of the sixth episode of Marry You, Cheol-hee and In-a were shooting for the documentary. While they were busy shooting, Ha-na decided to go to Cheol-hee’s place to watch his kids.

When Ha-na soon reached Cheol-hee’s place, she found that the kids were not there. She saw a letter on the table stating that his brother took away kids with him. Ha-na soon rushed to the airport and stopped his brother from sending kids away without informing Cheol-hee.

Ha-na was very upset by what In-a had done after seeing the kids crying. In the last scene of Marry You, Ha-na went to the shooting site of In-a and Cheol-hee and told the latter that she doesn’t approve of their relationship. At the same time, In-a received a message from Cheol-hee’s brother that a woman had taken away kids from the airport.

While Cheol-hee was drunk, Ha-na and In-a stood face to face, marking the end of episode 6 of Marry You.

The next episodes of Marry You will air on December 7 and December 8 via Channel A network. The episodes can also be viewed on the streaming platforms, Netflix and Kocowa, in the selected regions.
