The ninth and tenth episodes of Marry You were released on December 14 and 15, respectively, via the Channel A network. This ten-episode rom-com drama features Lee Yi-kyung, Jo Soo-min, Koo Jun-hoe, and Ji Yi-su in the main roles, alongside a wide supporting cast.
The finale episodes of Marry You featured Jung Ha-na (played by Jo Soo-min) finally falling in love with Bong Cheol-hee (played by Lee Yi-kyung) and getting together with him. The episodes also showed how In-a fell into a trap with the wrong person, but ultimately getting out of the risky situation.
The last episode of Marry You seems to have wrapped up on a happy note, therefore there aren’t many possibilities for a second season.
Marry You episode 9: Ha-na confesses her feelings to Bong Cheol-hee
Episode 9 began with Cheol-hee and Ha-na staring at each other after their kiss. Earlier, Cheol-hee had confessed to Ha-na that he liked her. Ha-na suddenly left, overwhelmed, wondering if she liked Cheol-hee back.
Ha-na was initially hesitant because she wasn't sure about Cheol-hee, as he was a matchmaker applicant. But she eventually decided to give it a chance and date Cheol-hee. However, she chose to keep her relationship with Cheol-hee a secret from her teammates.
Meanwhile, In-a received a new request on the matchmaking platform after parting ways with Cheol-hee in previous episodes. In-a accepted an invitation from Joo Dong-suk. Following this, Ha-na set up a blind date for In-a and Dong-suk, who agreed to meet each other.
Ha-na got a negative feeling about Dong-suk as he appeared intimidating to her. He also demanded a private meeting with In-a when Ha-na contacted him for consultation. However, Ha-na planned their date, which went well, and In-a agreed to meet him again.
When the Marriage Morale Boost Team met at the office the following day, they talked about the rise in hateful comments following their sponsorship by In-a's company. They chose to block those who made hateful comments.
Cheol-hee and Ha-na eventually went out on their first date. While they were together, In-a waited for Dong-suk. In-a and Dong-suk met for the second time. Ha-na and Cheol-hee followed In-a and Dong-suk because Ha-na was suspicious about Dong-suk. However after watching them for a while, Ha-na and Cheol-hee left as they were convinced nothing was wrong.
After they left, Dong-suk invited In-a to dine with him in private. He escorted her to a private location. When In-a realized no one was around and Dong-suk was taking her to an isolated location, she became slightly nervous. In-a covertly gave her location to Ha-na via a message.
In the meantime, Cheol-hee and Ha-na encountered some ladies from the former's island who inquired about their wedding plans. Ha-na was hesitant to marry because of her previous negative experience.
Cheol-hee confessed to Ha-na near the end of the ninth episode of Marry You that he was ready for marriage. The final scene showed In-a, completely intoxicated and unconscious, leaning against Dong-suk.
Marry You episode 10: Ha-na and Cheol-hee discover the real culprit behind hostile comments on marriage boost team
The tenth episode of Marry You began with Cheol-hee and Ha-na gazing at each other. Cheol-hee tried to kiss Ha-na, but she declined because she wasn't sure about their marriage. Then, she ended her relationship with Cheol-hee and requested that they cease their romantic interactions. She held firm in her choice to end her relationship with Cheol-hee, despite her feelings of pain.
When Ha-na returned home, she checked her phone but there was no update from In-a and her phone number was also not working. So, Ha-na quickly left for their location with Ki-joon.
Meanwhile, Dong-suk took improper photos of In-a as she lay asleep next to him. He picked her up and walked to the car, but In-a struck Dong-suk as he attempted to take her. Ki-joon and Ha-na soon arrived at the scene and helped In-a.
While driving away, In-a revealed that she was pretending to be intoxicated to Dong-suk and constantly was in contact with Ha-na. She praised Ha-na for saving her from the situation.
The next day, everyone saw countless posters and comments urging the dissolution of the Marriage Morale Boost Team. After tracking down the IP address, authorities discovered that Ha-na was responsible for the mischievous deed. As a result, the mayor summoned her and questioned her on what she was doing on those specific timelines when the hateful comments were posted.
The mayor accused Ha-na for the incident, but she asked for an additional day to prove her innocence. If Ha-na failed to prove her innocence, the mayor decided to close the Marriage Morale Boost department.
Cheol-hee learned of Ha-na's problems from her friend, Young-eun. He immediately took measures to assist Ha-na. Soon, Cheol-hee discovered a suspicious figure in the CCTV footage. He showed Ha-na a video of a stranger entering her home while she was away.
She noticed a silver bracelet on the suspicious man's hands and recognized that it belonged to Dong-suk, the man who tried to take advantage of In-a earlier. They swiftly went to Dong-suk's location and found the mayor at his residence. Dong-suk was the mayor's son, and his mother abandoned him as a child, therefore he had a misogynistic attitude towards women. The mayor asked Ha-na for forgiveness on his son's behalf, so she dropped her plan of complaining about Dong-suk.
The next day, Ki-joon apologized to Ha-na for not being able to help her and gave her a letter from Cheol-hee. She read the letter and resolved to reconcile with Cheol-hee. While Ha-na was on her way to stop Cheol-hee from returning to his island, she received a call from her mother.
Ha-na's mother informed her that she had been admitted to the hospital and may have stomach cancer. Ha-na burst into tears as she heard this, and she immediately changed her route and set off to the hospital.
Cheol-hee’s twins called Ha-na before leaving, and thus he heard that her mother was sick. He rushed to the hospital too and soon they found that Ha-na’s mother was fine. Later, Ha-na told Cheol-hee that she liked him. Ha-na’s father also accepted Cheol-hee.
Towards the end of the final episode, In-a’s marriage was also fixed by her parents. Cheol-hee and Ha-na also lived happily with their twins. In the last scene, Cheol-hee became the new head of the Marriage Morale Boost Team replacing Ki-joon.
Marry You season 2 renewal possibilities
The first season of Marry You concluded happily as Bong Cheol-hee and Jung Ha-na reconciled and decided to stay together with their twins. Cheol-hee got Ha-na's father's approval for their relationship.
In addition, other characters in the drama had satisfying endings. In-a's marriage was likewise arranged toward the end of the final episode. Ki-joon made the choice to stay single.
Ha-na and Cheol-hee started living together as well. This appears to be a satisfactory conclusion, thus the odds of its renewal are limited. Furthermore, the chances of season 2 renewal are very low as the creators have not announced the next season as of the writing of this article.
Marry You is available to watch on streaming platforms Netflix and Kocowa, in selected regions.
