With the release of episodes 15 and 16 on August 3 and 4 respectively, the popular K-drama Miss Night and Day came to an end. The drama aired on the JBTC network, alongside Netflix. It featured stars such as Lee Jung-eun, Jung Eun-ji, Choi Jin-Hyuk, and Baek Seo-hoo in the leading roles.
Lee Mi Jin (Jung Eun-ji), who is 28 years old, changes into a 50-year-old woman, Lim-sun (played by Lee Jung-eun), during the day and returns to her younger self at night. In the drama, Gye Ji-ung (Choi Ji-hyuk), a diligent prosecutor, gets mixed up with Lee Mi Jin's two selves.
In the previous episode, Gong Eun-sim was suspected of being the murderer. She met Mi-jin’s father and kidnapped him, threatening Mi-jin to come and save him.

Miss Night and Day Episode 15: Gong Eun-sim is caught by police and Gye Ji-ung finds his mother’s body
Episode 11 of Miss Night and Day starts with Mi-jin rushing to save her father from Eun-sim, who had kidnapped him in the previous episode. When she reaches the location to find him, she makes many calls to her best friend, Do Ga-yeong, and also leaves a message to call the cops immediately.
Eun-sim hits Mi-jin on the head as she enters a remote place. When Mi-jin wakes up, she finds herself tied around a pole in the attacker's secret place. Eun-sim tells her that she has no intentions of hurting her father, instead, she wants to hurt Mi-jin. The latter was the witness to Ko Na-heun’s murder, who was killed by Eun-sim.
Meanwhile, Ga-yeong notices multiple missed calls from Mi-jin and her message. She immediately calls the investigator, Mr. Ju, and asks him for help. Mr. Ju then rushes to Ji-ung and tells him that Mi-jin is in danger.
Ji-ung finds her location on his phone's tracker app, which he had installed on her phone earlier. Wasting no time, Ji-ung rushes to that tent-like place and finds Mi-jin’s father’s phone, and blood, on the floor.
Soon, a police officer tells Ji-ung that Mi-jin’s father has been found locked up in the tea house, where he became unconscious after drinking tea, and remembers nothing. The officer further adds that Eun-sim’s old house is close to the location. The police team and Ji-ung then move to Eun-sim’s house.
Simultaneously, Eun-sim is seen preparing an injection to kill Mi-jin. But before she can inject her, Mi-jin cuts the rope, secretly keeps the injection, and runs out of that place. Eun-sim tries to chase her. When Eun-sim is about to attack Mi-jin with her axe, she sees Lim-sun, whom she had already killed 20 years ago. As she sees Lim-sun in Mi-jin, Eun-sim isn’t able to attack her, and Mi-jin injects her with the injection.
On the other side, they search Eun-sim’s old house, and Ji-ung soon discovers the place where Mi-jin was kept. He moves out and keeps looking for Mi-jin in the forested area. He finds Eun-sim tied to a tree, but he doesn’t see Mi-jin. He sees that magical cat near the water stream, and he follows that cat. He keeps walking until dawn and sees Mi-jin in front of him, who soon turns into Lim-sun. This startles Ji-ung.
In the next scene, Ji-ung and the police team are seen excavating the skeletal remains of two people, one of whom is Ji-ung’s mother and the other is Mi-jin's aunt Lim-sun. He recognizes his dead mother’s ring and cries his heart out. At the same time, Lim-sun is also taken to the hospital. She wakes up and realizes that she hasn’t changed, even though her culprit has been caught. Additionally, her father also gets discharged from the hospital.
Mr. Cha handed over this case to Ms. Park. The latter allows Ji-ung to question Eun-sim. He asks her why she killed his mother, and she details everything. Lim-sun and Ko Won are also interrogated for how they discovered Eun-sim's fake identity. Ms. Park finds something fishy in their statements, as both of their details were the same.
Simultaneously, Mi-jin avoids meeting Ji-ung, thinking that he won’t understand her situation. One day, when she returns home at night from Ga-yeong’s place, she notices Ji-ung waiting outside her house. She decides to end her relationship with Ji-ung after explaining that she feels uneasy staying with him due to her strange curse.
Ms. Park, on the other hand, informs Mr. Cha about Lim-sun’s faking her identity for her job, and Gye Ji-ung isn’t ready to complain against her. Just then, Mr. Cha receives a message stating that Ji-ung will be called back to Seoul soon, which makes him happy.
Toward the end of Miss Night and Day episode 15, Mi-jin's mother appears to be sorrowful and not ready to accept that her sister Lim-sun is dead. While she is heading for the police station, Mi-jin as Lim-sun comes out of her room and tells her mother that she is Mi-jin.
The things Mi-jin says are not believed by her mother, who thinks she is actually her sister Lim-sun. Instead, she tells Lim-sun she's sorry she didn't recognize her lost sister twenty years later, hugs her, and starts crying. While she is crying, the sun sets and Lim-sun transforms into Mi-jin, which shocks her parents, and the episode ends.
Miss Night and Day Episode 16: Mi-jin is freed from her curse
Episode 12 of Miss Night and Day begins with Lim-sun turning into Mi-jin in front of her parents. Though it is difficult to believe, her parents accept her unusual curse.
In the next court scene, Baek Cheol-gyu’s punishment is reduced as he isn’t the murderer. Ji-ung is seen waiting for Mi-jin in court but she doesn’t show up.
As time passes, Mi-jin adapts to her life as Lim-sun after losing hope of becoming free from her curse. Ji-ung on the other hand, prepares for his farewell as he is called back to Seoul.
Mi-jin is still avoiding Ji-ung after their breakup in the previous episode. One night, finally, Lim Sun appears in front of Mi-jin and frees her from the curse. Further, in the finale episode, Gong Eun-sim is sentenced to death by the judge, following Mi-jin’s statement as the witness.
Toward the end, Mi-jin decides to resume her studies for the civil servant examination. Ga-yeong says yes to Mr. Ju’s romantic proposal. Ko Won is seen giving an interview after the release of his new song and cherishing his memories with Lim-sun.
At last, Mi-jin passes the exam and is given an appointment in an office in Seoul, where she runs into Ji-ung once more. Both express their feelings for each other and get back together.
Renewal possibilities of Miss Night and Day
Miss Night and Day ends on a happy note when Mi-jin and Ji-ung get back together. This JBTC romantic thriller drama seems to have a pleasant wrap-up, which means there are no potential chances of renewal. No loose ends of this K-drama have been left untied.
JBTC has not confirmed a continuation of Miss Night and Day as of this writing.
