Namib episode 5 recap: Su-hyeon finally confronted Chris

The fifth episode of Namib began with Jin-woo onstage for his audition and about to begin his performance. Before he began singing, he remembered Su-hyeon and Jun-seok's advice to sing in low pitch to elicit sympathy for his participation in the competition. After Jin-woo finished his song, he met his mother, who had come to see his audition, which made him emotional while performing.

The next day, Jin-woo and Sim Jin-woo attended school together. As Jin-woo was about to leave for training after being selected, he resolved to settle things for Sim Jin-woo. He assigned different tasks to different classmates in exchange for monetary compensation from Su-hyeon for assisting Sim Jin-woo. These students prepared notes for Sim Jin-woo and kept a watch on him while he was at school.

Meanwhile, Jang Hyun-cheol was plotting revenge on Kang Su-hyeon, as she was training Jin-woo for the competition. He called the news outlet and said he would give them a tip about Su-hyeon.

Meanwhile, Jin-woo and Ji-yeong were practising their dance for the upcoming rounds of competition. Later that day, Jin-woo headed to the club for his job shift, but Chris brought him out to supper at another restaurant. At the restaurant, Chris tried to persuade Jin-woo to leave Su-hyeon, believing she was only using him and would eventually abandon him, just as she had done to Chris.

But Jin-woo was not ready to accept it, so he headed for home, recalling his younger days with Chris along the way. In the flashback, Chris was also a Pandora trainee when Kang Su-hyeon was CEO. One day, when Chris was seated with Jin-woo, an employee approached him and informed him that his debut as an idol had been put back.

Later, Su-hyeon called Chris to meet her when she realized he was attempting to influence him. Su-hyeon was aware that Jin-woo and Chris had known each other since childhood as they trained together. Chris stated that he does not trust Su-hyeon at all because she would desert him.

Chris claimed to know Jin-woo extremely well. Chris went on to imply that Jin-woo would leave her soon because he wasn't on her side. After telling her this, Chris left.

Following this, Su-hyeon found out that Jin-woo had passed the audition and would shortly leave for training. While they were celebrating Jin-woo and Ji-yeong's selection, Su-hyeon received a phone call from the news media inquiring about her views on the video they had received as a tip.

Su-hyeon was surprised to learn who provided the news agency with the video. Su-hyeon alleged that the video was manipulated and utilized negatively to remove her from the CEO post.

Su-hyeon informed her husband, Jun-seok, who immediately went to Pandora's office to obtain the original footage from that day, when Su-hyeon's video was secretly filmed. Bong-gyu, Su-hyeon's one-sided lover, assisted Jun-seok and granted him access to the CCTV footage.

Su-hyeon and Jun-seok noticed Jin-woo surreptitiously recording her. Toward the end of Namib's fifth episode, Jin-woo went to the club to inform Chris that he was leaving his job to focus on his competition and training.

Chris continued to try to persuade Jin-woo to reconsider his mind. He even stated that Su-hyeon's footage, which Jin-woo had previously captured and sold to Chris, was being used against her. Soon, Su-hyeon and Jun-seok arrived and took Jin-woo with them. Su-hyeon continued to support Jin-woo despite losing her job due to the secretly filmed footage.
