Netflix's Squid Game has continued its successful dominance as a cultural phenomenon with the release of its second season. Building on the immense success of the original series, the sequel has broken records and captured audiences worldwide.

It set new viewership milestones and became one of Netflix’s most popular non-English shows. With the first look at season 3 now revealed and a confirmed 2025 release, the franchise continues to expand its reach and influence in global entertainment.

On January 1, 2025, Netflix revealed the first poster and a motion poster for Squid Game season 3. Shared across its social media platforms, the motion poster came with an intriguing caption:

"YOUNG-HEE & CHUL-SU. SEASON 3, COMING IN 2025. ONLY ON NETFLIX."

The visuals spotlight Young-hee and Cheol-su, two iconic dolls expected to play a pivotal role in the final season. Fans are already speculating about the sinister games they might bring to life.

Young-hee, the eerie doll with motion-sensor eyes, first appeared in the Red Light, Green Light game in season 1, terrifying players and viewers alike. She returned in season 2, cementing her status as one of the show's most recognizable elements.

Cheol-su, her male counterpart, briefly appeared in the mid-credits of season 2, sparking curiosity about his role. Now confirmed to join the games in season 3, Cheol-su's addition raises anticipation for even more intense and dangerous challenges.

While details about their involvement remain under wraps, creators have hinted that Young-hee and Cheol-su will be central to the most thrilling and unforgettable game of the series. Whether they will enhance a familiar game or introduce something entirely new is yet to be seen.

However, the team promises their presence will elevate season 3 to deliver the franchise’s most memorable moments. Through Netflix's Tudum newsletter, creator Hwang Dong-hyuk has expressed excitement about concluding the story, promising another "thrill ride" for viewers.

“I am beyond excited to be writing this letter to announce the date for Season 2 and share the news of Season 3, the final season,” Hwang Dong-hyuk said. “The fierce clash between [Gi-hun and Front Man’s] two worlds will continue into the series finale with Season 3, which will be brought to you next year.”
