On December 2, 2024, a South Korean media outlet, Energy Economy Newspaper reported that BTS' Jimin recently contributed 30 million KRW. This donation was made to improve housing conditions for senior citizens in Busan as part of the "Busan Habitat Challenge." The donation, which was facilitated through Jimin's father, marked him as the first individual contributor to the initiative and the third donor overall.

The Busan Habitat Challenge is a project aimed at enhancing the living conditions of elderly individuals in need of housing support. The development is done with the help of the local community. The funds will be used by the Busan City Senior Citizens' Comprehensive Support Center to make homes safer and more comfortable for seniors living alone.

The donation was formally recognized at a ceremony held at Busan City Hall, attended by Busan Mayor Park Heong-joon and Jimin’s father, who represented the artist in his absence. For those unaware, the Filter singer is currently fulfilling his mandatory military service and is scheduled for discharge in June 2025.

He further encouraged more public participation in initiatives like the donation relay, underscoring the importance of creating a supportive and senior-friendly environment.

The BTS singer-songwriter is currently serving in the military since December 2023. On October 8, 2024, he was named the Special Warrior Elite Soldier, receiving the Division Commander’s Award for the best trainee.
