On November 1, 2024, KBS dropped John Park's rendition of aespa's track Whiplash through the official YouTube channel KBS Kpop, sending the fandom into a frenzy. The Korean-American singer flaunted his vocal skills while appearing at the show The Seasons: Rainbow of Lee Young Ji. Additionally, the show's host, Young-ji could also be seen grooving to the male artist's cover.

For those unversed, Whiplash was a song recorded by the four-member South Korean girl group aespa. It was part of their fifth extended play Whiplash, and released as the title track. The record was released on October 21, 2024, through SM Entertainment.

Subsequently, John Park's cover of Whiplash circulated on social media and went viral. The fandom could not contain their excitement, and an X user tweeted:

The fandom stated they were glad to hear John Park covering aespa's track and referred to it as amazing. They also demanded him to release the rendition versions officially.

Many internet users also stated that John Park's vocals and aespa's vibe perfectly synchronized. They also mentioned that they could listen to his voice all day.

The Korean-American John Park, also known as John Andrew Park, was born on September 13, 1988. He rose to prominence as the semi-finalist on the American Idol season 9 and ranked in the 20th position. The male artist was also the runner-up of the Korean singing contest Superstar K2 conducted and organized by M.net.
