BTS' Taehyung has made history with his song Love Me Again, which has spent an entire year on the Spotify Global Chart. As of August 12, 2024, the track became the first and only song by a K-pop soloist to remain on the chart for a full 366 days without ever dropping off.

This accomplishment is also significant as it marks the first time a B-side track by any K-pop artist has achieved this feat. Currently, Love Me Again sits at the 98th spot on the chart and has amassed a whopping 745 million streams on Spotify.

This record places Love Me Again in elite company, alongside BTS' My Universe, which also charted for 366 consecutive days. V's debut as a solo artist began with the release of his album Layover and its co-title track, Love Me Again. The song's success on Spotify is just one of several milestones it has reached since its release.

Fans have flooded the internet with their congratulatory messages over this,

“Love Me Again has NEVER left the chart!” a fan exclaimed.
“The queen of all b-sides!!” a fan claimed.
“OH KING TAEHYUNG,” another fan exclaimed enthusiastically.

Some other fans commented,

“LOUDERRRR,” a fan encouraged fellow fans to celebrate the achievement.
“Organic hit!” a fan said.
“Insane impact,” a fan stated.
“CONGRATULATIONS TAEHYUNG,” a fan congratulated the BTS star.

Taehyung's Love Me Again celebrates its one-year anniversary with an achievement

On August 10, 2024, BTS’ Taehyung’s first solo album Layover’s co-title track, Love Me Again celebrated its first anniversary. With the album’s release, V became one of the few K-pop idols to achieve such high streaming numbers and chart positions with a debut solo release.

In addition to its recent record-breaking year-long presence on the Spotify Global Chart, Love Me Again quickly became one of the fastest solo songs by a K-pop artist to surpass 50 million streams on the platform.

The track also broke into Spotify's Global Top 50, making it one of the highest-charting songs by a BTS member. Furthermore, the song also topped iTunes charts in multiple countries shortly after its release, including major markets like the United States, Japan, and the United Kingdom.

Love Me Again is now also the most streamed B-side track by a K-pop act on Spotify, with 745 million streams, surpassing other popular tracks such as BTS' Euphoria and RUN BTS.

The song’s soulful, R&B-inspired sound, coupled with V's deep vocals, resonated deeply with fans. Its lyrics explore themes of longing and desire, while the accompanying music video enhances the song's intimate and reflective tone, featuring Taehyung in a cave-like setting bathed in warm, moody lighting.

As the first anniversary of Layover approaches, fans are eagerly anticipating more milestones and records to be broken by V and his solo work.
