Korean media outlet News1's reporter Kim Min-ji reported that actor Kim Soo-hyun will sing the OST for his ongoing tvN and Netflix drama, Queen of Tears. This was reported on April 18, 2024. Fans were thrilled to hear this news because it has been ten years since the star sang an OST for a drama. The name of the song is however yet to be revealed.

Fans who are currently enjoying watching the drama are excited to see how this particularly unexpected song will unfold. The finale of the drama, Queen of Tears will air on April 28, and this OST sung by the star himself is scheduled to be inserted into one of the episodes.

Kim Soo-hyun to grace fans with a new OST for the first time in 10 years

Actor Kim Soo-hyun made his acting debut as long back as 2007 with a small television role in the drama Kimchi Cheese Smile. In addition to his successful acting career, he has also displayed his talents as a singer. He made his debut as a singer in 2007 with the song Dreaming for the soundtrack of the above-mentioned drama series.

Currently, he is gearing up once again to voice a brand new song for his own ongoing drama, Queen Of Tears. Kim Soo-hyun's participation in the drama OST marks his first in 10 years since he last sang the You Who Came from the Stars OST, including In Front of Your House and Promise, in 2014.

However, with time, his focus shifted more towards acting. Hence, this news has become a big reason for the fans to celebrate his vocal return to the big screen.

His role in the drama Dream High (2011), where he portrayed the character of Song Sam-dong brought his singing abilities to the forefront of the Korean entertainment industry and also propelled him to stardom.

In Dream High, Kim Soo-hyun displayed his vocal abilities through performances of different songs, including Dreaming and Maybe. His portrayal of a musically gifted high school student earned him praise for his singing skills, and he became known not only as a talented actor but also as a capable singer.

Following the success of the above-mentioned particular drama, the now 36-year-old continued to contribute to soundtracks for his other projects as well, showcasing his capabilities as both an actor and a singer. His singing performances for the soundtracks of his dramas, such as The Moon Embracing the Sun and My Love from the Star, are among his most renowned performances.

Some K-drama OSTs are some of the most popular songs around the world. Usually, refined musicians lend their voices to these songs and make a home in worldwide fans' hearts. However, sometimes actors starring in the drama themselves use their voices to add a personal touch to the feel of the song as well as the drama. Such an instance will soon be featured by actor Kim Soo-hyun in the form of a new OST for Queen Of Tears.

In Queen of Tears, where Soo-hyun plays the role of Baek Hyun-woo, he portrays a love for Hong Hae-in (played by Kim Ji-won), raising expectations that these emotions will be reflected in the OST as well.

Meanwhile, Queen of Tears starring Kim Soo-hyun, is currently enjoying popularity and airs every Saturday and Sunday at 9:20 p.m. KST. While Kim Soo-hyun's primary focus remains on acting, his hand in singing has allowed him to further connect with audiences. His contributions to the music industry have been well-received by fans.
