During a live stream on 16 August 2024, actress, model and TV personality Ham So Won officially announced news of her divorce from her former husband, actor and TV personality Jin Hua. In the live, Ham So Won disclosed that she and her husband got divorced around December 2022.
In 2017 Ham So Won got married to Jin Hua. The couple attracted significant attention and even appeared on a televised broadcast due to their notable age difference of 18 years, with So Won being the elder partner in the relationship.

During the live, Ham So Won talked more about her divorce and family. She said, after getting divorced in 2022, in March - April of 2023 they announced about being separated publicly. However, they could not part ways yet as their daughter Hyejung was still very young.

Talking about the reasons of the divorce, she stated that it was 99% for her young daughter. Being brought up in a household with constant arguments and conflicts she wanted to live and raise their daughter in a house without any tension.
"I have a quick temper, and Jin Hua needs constant reassurances of love, so we often fight," she said on the live.
These fights made her feel guilty for her daughter which led her to make the decision of divorce. So Won shared that her former husband Jin Hua had been living with them and fulfilling his responsibility as a father. Adding more to that, Ham So Won also said that even though they are divorced, if Jin Hua wanted, she would be open to the idea of reconciliation.
Further, she apologised for not announcing her divorce sooner. She also mentioned her plan to meet reporters and share more details in September before the Korean holiday Chuseok.
Before this, the couple had been constantly involved in rumours. Recently, on August 6 Jin Hua posted photos of him with injuries, claiming So Won had been violent towards him. However, this claim was cleared after he apologised saying the injuries in the photos were unrelated to her.
