On September 5, 2024, BTS' Suga aka Agust D's debut studio album D-Day emerged as the first Korean hip-hop album to surpass one billion streams on the audio streaming platform Spotify. For those unversed, D-Day was released on April 21, 2023, through BigHit Music. It was the third installment of Agust D's trilogy works, which included mixtapes Agust D and D-2. The record featured 10 tracks and fellow group members, including J-hope, Ryuichi Sakamoto, female singer IU, and Rose's Woosung.
The tracks included D-Day, Haegeum, AMYGDALA, People Pt.2, Huh?, SDL, Polar Night, Interlude Dawn, Snooze (featuring Ryuichi Sakamoto), and Life Goes On.
Agust D's five tracks re-entered the Top 10 Billboard World Digital Sales Chart
On September 5, 2024, the South Korean media outlet TV Daily reported that BTS' Suga's five tracks, including The Last (No.1), Polar Night (No.3), People Pt.2 (No.4), Snooze (No.6), Haegeum (No.9) re-entered the Top 10 Billboard World Digital Song Sales Chart.
Additionally, The Last also debuted and made its first entry in the Billboard US Digital Song Sales chart at No.12. It was the track from Suga's debut mixtape Agust D, released through Big Hit Entertainment on August 15, 2016, via the streaming platform Soundcloud.
According to the outlet, ARMYs across the world were openly showcasing their support for the male artist as he was recently stuck in a DUI controversy. On August 6, 2024, Agust D was caught by police, driving an electric scooter under the influence of alcohol. Subsequently, he also appeared for questioning on August 23, 2024, at Yongsan Police Station.
ARMYs were occupied supporting BTS' Suga virtually as he's been under fire for the recent DUI case. They have been placing multiple banners and planned electric billboard truck projects outside the main HYBE building located in Yeongsang, Seoul.
