On December 23, 2024, a South Korean media outlet, E Daily reported projections of a BTS album release in the second half of 2025 and a world tour scheduled for 2026. The speculation originated from a financial analysis by NH Investment & Securities.
It projected an upswing in HYBE’s consolidated sales, partly attributed to the anticipated return of BTS’s group activities. While the reports have sparked excitement among fans, some expressed caution, preferring to wait for confirmation from either the members or the label before getting their hopes up. An X user, @myyouuseven wrote,
"I aint believing anything until its confirmed by bh."
While official confirmation of the album or tour is yet to come, fans are already planning for the possibility of a large-scale world tour. Others too joined in and expressed enthusiasm about the group's possible return.
"The wait is about to be OVER . IM DYING HERE," a fan added.
"OMG OUR DAYS ARE COMING," said a fan.
"i don't trust any source other than the members themselves," a netizen remarked.
"COMEBACK IN 2025?! WORLD TOUR IN 2026 SOMEONE HOLD ME BEFORE I FALL. WE ARE SO BACK," a fan wrote.
Some voiced concerns for the members’ well-being, urging them to take ample rest after completing their military service.
"Have we just started believing kmedia now?? especially to do with their comeback??," an X user wrote.
"Wow, that was fast for the future planning BTS comeback and world tour in 2026/2027 but they need more rest and taking long break and they need more time to do for working music on taking more months lot things to do for songs I can’t wait in June 2025 so see you at BTS Festa," a netizen remarked.
More about the expected BTS reunion after their military service
The group’s activities have been on pause since December 2022, when Jin, the eldest member, enlisted in the military. Over the following year, the other six members— Suga, J-Hope, RM, V, Jimin, and Jungkook— also enlisted, temporarily halting group projects.
While Jin and J-Hope have already completed their service in 2024, the remaining members are expected to be discharged by June 2025, setting the stage for their rumored return.
During their hiatus, each member explored solo projects, releasing albums that showcased their artistry and earning acclaim for their individual growth. Despite the success of these ventures, fans have eagerly awaited a reunion, a sentiment mirrored by the members, who have expressed their desire to perform together again.
Adding to the excitement, HYBE chairman Bang Si-hyuk previously confirmed plans for a celebration in 2025 to mark the 10th anniversary of the group's HYYH: The Most Beautiful Moment in Life series during an interview with Bloomberg in October 2023. This album series is considered a pivotal point in the band’s career, reflecting personal stories and global resonance.
Bang noted that the upcoming anniversary album would honor a long-standing promise, bringing together everyone who contributed to the original series.
As the wait continues, the anticipation for the BTS' comeback grows. Whether through a new album, a global tour, or an anniversary celebration, fans are eager to witness the next chapter of the group’s journey.
