Fans of the K-pop group NewJeans voiced strong criticism against the South Korean media outlet Dispatch, accusing it of invasive behavior in reporting the group's ongoing legal battle with ADOR and HYBE. Concerns were raised after Dispatch disclosed details of private meetings involving NewJeans members, their parents, Min Hee-jin, and their attorney in a report dated January 23, 2025.

Many labeled this conduct as stalking, especially given that the group includes underage members. Fans and netizens also condemned the outlet for its invasive practices.

Fans argued that the way Dispatch obtained and reported this information was a blatant invasion of privacy. Meanwhile, critics called for stricter legal action against such practices. An X user, @twitreader17, wrote:

"It's definitely alarming that they're stalking teenagers, in the evening, especially with minors involved. Hybe is a criminal organization, and Dispatch is their main accessory."

Social media platforms flooded with posts condemning Dispatch for normalizing invasive reporting and calling for accountability.

"'Dispatch witnessed the meeting'. More like they stalked the girls and MHJ in their private time, in front of their dorm, for who knows how long. Everyone in this stalking company should go straight to jail," an X user wrote.
"Either they should jail these stalkers or make stalking legalised in this country, like what the fu* k is this normalising stalking as witnessed in articles," a fan wrote.
"Dispatch is still stalking them?! I hope the girls file a case against them," a netizen remarked.
"the only real issue with that Dispatch article is how it normalizes stalking NewJeans. beyond that, nothing in it was particularly shocking or revealing," a user added.

Many fans claimed that such actions jeopardized the group's privacy and that they should be sued.

"Imaging using the word 'witnessed' like as if they are invited to be part of a meeting when dispatch is there to STALK and ILLEGALLY follow the girls," a netizen commented.
"Sad that this feels normal now," a fan wrote.
"Dispatch people should be jailed," a user added.

More about the Dispatch's recent reports on NewJeans and ADOR's ongoing conflict

The controversy unfolded as Dispatch claimed to have witnessed meetings between NewJeans members, Min Hee-jin, and their legal representative from the firm Sejong. The report from the publication dated January 23, 2025, states:

"'Dispatch' witnessed the meeting on September 24th and October 8th. September 24th was the day before the deadline for Min Hee-jin's return. On that day, the members' mothers met with attorney 'Sejong' at Min Hee-jin's Yeonhui-dong office."

One such meeting reportedly occurred in September 2024, shortly before Min Hee-jin faced a decision regarding her potential return to ADOR, as per the outlet. Another meeting in October 2024 involved member Hanni preparing for her solo appearance at a National Assembly audit.

The legal dispute between NewJeans and their label ADOR began when the group announced their decision to terminate their exclusive contract, citing workplace harassment and a lack of support from their agency.

On January 23, 2025, the members publicly declared their refusal to return to either ADOR or its parent company, HYBE, stating that both companies had failed to uphold their responsibilities. The group also alleged that HYBE and ADOR engaged in manipulative tactics, including secretly meeting with the members' parents.

ADOR, however, maintains that the exclusive contract remains valid, filing a lawsuit to confirm its legitimacy. The agency has accused the group of breaching their agreement by seeking independent entertainment opportunities.

Meanwhile, NewJeans has retained the law firm Sejong, citing the firm's familiarity with the internal issues at both HYBE and ADOR.
