On August 16, 2024, BTS' youngest member, Jungkook, achieved a major milestone with his solo debut album GOLDEN. His album has now surpassed 8 million units sold globally, according to Hits Double Daily (HITSDD).

This remarkable achievement has set a new record for the best-selling album by an Asian solo artist in history. This also marks GOLDEN as the fastest-selling male debut album in over ten years.

Notably, the album GOLDEN, with 8.4 million units sold, has now become the best-selling debut album by a male artist released this decade. With this, the Still With You singer surpassed Lil Nas X’s MONTERO, which sold 7.6 million units.

Fans of the idol turned to social media to celebrate the BTS member for shattering records, despite being in the military since December 2023. One user on X, @Borahae_321, shared their thoughts and wrote,

"Congratulations JK. Another one for the books."
"The Golden Boy himself Jeon Jungkook did that," a fan wrote on X.
"He’s collecting new fans every day. His follow-up album will be insane.m" another user commented.
"there just hasn’t been anyone as talented as him in any of the fields he’s in, in a long time or ever. hes easily one of the best artists to ever do it, vocal wise, performance wise, artistry wise," a fan remarked.

Fans of the idol flooded X (formerly known as Twitter) with various nicknames for him. Some of them included "MAIN POP BOY JUNGKOOK" and "21ST CENTURY POP ARTIST," making them a trend on the platform.

On November 3, 2024, BTS' youngest member, Jungkook, made his highly anticipated solo debut with the album GOLDEN. This all-English album, comprising eleven tracks, features collaborations with several prominent artists.

The tracklist includes hits such as 3D (featuring Jack Harlow), Closer to You (featuring Major Lazer), Seven (featuring Latto) Explicit Ver., Standing Next To You (Main Track), Yes or No, Please Don't Change (featuring DJ Snake), Hate You, Somebody, Too Sad to Dance, Shot Glass of Tears, and Seven(featuring Latto) - Clean Ver.

Since its release, GOLDEN has shattered numerous records, quickly becoming the biggest debut album by an Asian act in U.S. iTunes history. It also surpassed Beyoncé's record, becoming the fastest debut album to achieve multiple top 10 hits on the Billboard Hot 100 chart. Additionally, GOLDEN made history as the first and only album by an Asian soloist to have various tracks reach 800 million streams.


Even though the BTS member is currently serving in the military until June 2025, he prepared a variety of content for his fans before enlisting. His travel show, Are You Sure?! with bandmate Jimin premiered recently, showcasing the duo exploring various locations in the U.S., Japan, and South Korea.

This eight-episode series has aired three episodes so far, with new episodes being released every Thursday.

Additionally, the idol's solo documentary, JUNGKOOK: I AM STILL, is set to debut in cinemas worldwide on September 18, 2024.
