All about the collaboration between BLACKPINK's Rosé and Bruno Mars for APT
On October 18, the collaborative song between BLACKPINK's Rosé and Bruno Mars, APT, was released. The song was inspired by the famous Korean drinking game called "APATEU" in Korean, which translates to Apartment.
While this stands as the base of the song, the lyrics stand for the two personas mentioned in the track being attracted to each other. As they express their feelings for one another through the lyrics, they also seemingly invite them to their apartment.
Here's what Rosé explained about the song and its lyrics in her recent interview with Vogue:
"'APT.' is the name of my single that just dropped and 'APT.' is actually a Korean drinking game that I love to play with my friends. Basically, we were hanging out in the studio and I was like how about I teach you guys some Korean drinking games and then I started doing it."
However, Rosé re-evaluated whether or not it would be appropriate:
"I remember going home freaking out, thinking, 'Is this ok? Writing a song about a drinking game. Is this too unserious?'"
Regardless, with the song finally released and the appreciation and love it has been receiving from fans and netizens across the world, it's safe to say the collaboration was a huge success.
