On Wednesday, September 18, BTS' Jungkook’s much-awaited documentary I AM STILL released in theatres worldwide. Within a day of its release, the Seven singer’s film is already breaking records. In line with this, the movie became the highest grossing cinema event by a K-pop soloist in Italy’s box office.

With the new record of €66.318, Jungkook’s I AM STILL surpassed the record of €38.806, which was previously set by SUGA’s D-Day: The Movie. The documentary's latest achievement was celebrated by Jungkook’s fans on X.

They flooded the internet with their enthusiasm and appreciation for the K-pop idol. One of them wrote,

“Are we even surprised? He is literally the KING of SOLD-OUT.”

Many other positive responses from BTS' Jungkook’s fans were recorded on the social media platform.

“Wow as expected. Congratulations Jungkook,” a fan wrote.
“That's hugeeeeeeee,” an X user stated.
“With limited screening mind u.. oh kingkook, you'll always be on top,” wrote a fan

Some fans commented that they’re proud of BTS’ Jungkook, while another fan stated that Italy is the artist’s land.

BTS' Jungkook’s I AM STILL dates in city cinemas get extended owing to its popular demand

In response to popular demand, additional dates have been scheduled in city cinemas across various countries, with increased daily screenings, as the movie was released with limited screenings initially.

Theatres in the USA, UK, South Korea, Netherlands, Australia, Vietnam, Thailand, India, Japan, Philippines, Pakistan, Peru, Sri Lanka, Romania, Egypt, Portugal, Hungary, Kazakhstan, Saudi Arabia, Denmark, Poland, Chile, Spain, UAE, and Hong Kong have extended dates for Jungkook’s movie, with certain cinemas stretching the dates until next month.

According to the Korean Film Council, Jungkook’s documentary also became the highest grossing cinema event opening day by a K-pop soloist in South Korea’s Box Office history, surpassing Agust D's D-Day: The Movie.

On August 14, BTS' official social media channels released the initial teaser poster for Jungkook's documentary. The post included the film's premiere date and time, along with its first imagery, on the corresponding website, www.jungkook-iamstill.com. Global ticket sales commenced on August 21, with sales in Korea beginning on September 4.

BTS' Jungkook’s documentary showcased his life behind cameras while preparing his solo album, and other unseen interview footage. The exclusive website of I AM STILL stated about the contents of the latest movie:

“Through exclusive, unseen interviews and behind-the-scenes footage, alongside electrifying concert performances, this brand new film showcases Jung Kook’s eight-month journey, capturing his unwavering dedication and growth.”

Currently, BTS' Jungkook is serving his term of military service. The singer joined the army training in December 2023 and is anticipated to be released sometime around June 2025. He was enlisted alongside his co-member Jimin.

BTS' Jungkook also appeared alongside Jimin in a Disney+ travel vlog series, Are You Sure?!, where the duo traveled to the US, Japan, and Jeju Island. This series was prerecorded by Jungkook and Jimin before they left for their military service.
