Megan Thee Stallion dropped her latest track, Neva Play (feat. RM of BTS), on September 6, 2024. This marked the first song by BTS leader and main rapper, Kim Namjoon aka RM, as a featured artist in 2024.

The official MV showcased a comic-book-esque artwork. Kim Namjoon appeared as the main character from an action anime, as he rapped "For Asian men we paved the way."

This is the second collaboration between American rapper and singer Megan Thee Stallion and BTS. Their first partnership art was for BTS' 2021 Billboard Hot 100 topping summer single, Butter. Megan Thee Stallion featured on the remixed version of the song.

Meanwhile, fans across the world poured their comments on social media and lauded the song as "SONG OF THE YEAR." One fan further praised Neva Play and wrote on X,

"Ate and left no crumbs omfg."

Admirers were stunned to listen to the BTS frontman, RM, rap in his deep voice as he opened his verse with "What's up, Stallion?"

"ONE TWO THREE FOUR (ONE TWO THREE FOUR) FIVE SIX SEVEN EIGHT (FIVE SIX SEVEN EIGHT) LET EM KNOW WE ON THE WAY COUNTING ZERO'S EVERY DAY YOU KNOW THAT WE NEVAPLAY," one fan wrote.
"Also the fact that namjoon’s voice on neva play is actually his real voice when he’s the most relaxed is something so important to me," another fan wrote.
"ANIMATED NAMJOON DISAPPEARING FROM THE GAME MACHINE AND APPEARING BEHIND MEGAN?!?!? DOES THIS MEAN WE’RE GETTING A PART 2 @theestallion?!?!?!?" another fan reacted.

Several fans underscored Megan Thee Stallion's statement prior to the song's official release, where she mentioned that she had never heard BTS' RM rap like this before.

"Megan was SO right when she said that she never heard namjoon rapping that way," one fan said.
"“for asian men we pave the way” THE KING THAT YOU ARE KIM NAMJOON," another fan highlighted.
"NAMJOON REPEATING RIGHT AFTER MEGAN. HIS VOICE SO ROUGH AND DEEP. ON LOOP. ON LOOP," one other fan added.

"This is one of my favorite RM verses I’ve heard! I’ve never heard him rap in this style before."

Meanwhile, Kim Namjoon of BTS dropped his second solo album, Right Place, Wrong Person, on May 24, 2024. The album earned a 5-star review from major music critics such as NME, ELLE, and more. The album was the Grammy-nominated musician's second full-length record with 11 tracks and featured artists like Little Simz, Moses Sumney, DOMi & JB BECK, and more.

Additionally, Megan Thee Stallion dropped her third studio album Megan on July 30, 2024, with the hit track, Mamushi (feat. Yuki Chiba). The song became an overnight sensation on TikTok and Instagram as celebrities and influencers grooved to the song and shared reels online.

In other news, BTS' Kim Namjoon is currently serving in the South Korean military and will be discharged in June 2025 after the completion of his mandatory service of 18 months.
