BTS’ Taehyung has reached an unprecedented milestone by setting records for the biggest debuts in Spotify Global's history, in the jazz and Christmas song categories. On December 8, 2024, he achieved this with his two latest releases, Winter Ahead with Park Hyo-shin and White Christmas featuring Bing Crosby, within just eight days.

On November 30, one day after its release, Winter Ahead became the biggest jazz debut in Spotify history, amassing 4.2 million streams. V set the record for the largest debut of a Christmas song with White Christmas, surpassing his own 2021 hit, Christmas Tree.

Fans worldwide are celebrating this accomplishment, praising his consistency and ability to achieve such milestones in a short period.

BTS' Taehyung continues breaking records with Winter Ahead and White Christmas

The biggest debut on Spotify's Global Chart is determined by the number of streams a song garners within its first week of release. BTS’ Kim Taehyung recently set "back-to-back" records, making his mark on this prestigious chart.

Winter Ahead, his jazz-pop collaboration with Park Hyo-shin, achieved 4.2 million streams, overtaking Icelandic-Chinese singer Laufey’s From the Start, which previously recorded 1.1 million streams and ranked at #15 on the global chart. Winter Ahead became a standout jazz release of all time.

Following this, V's Christmas song, White Christmas, debuted with 3.8 million streams, securing the #25 spot on the Spotify Global Chart. This debut is now the best-ever for a Christmas song on the chart.

Additionally, Taehyung’s 2021 track Christmas Tree was recently featured on Billboard's list of the "Best Christmas Songs of the 21st Century," ranking at #19 among 25 songs from around the world.
