BELIFT LAB's rookie boy group, ENHYPEN, flew to Italy for the 2024 Milan Fashion Week on September 19. Upon arrival at the Milan airport, a group of fans surrounded the popular boy band, reportedly leading to chaos. Several video clips went viral on social media, showing fans allegedly pushing some of the group members in an attempt to touch them.
ENHYPEN is known for its song roster and visuals. As PRADA ambassadors, the news of their attendance at the prestigious 2024 Milan Fashion Week excited fans around the world. However, the latest clips have enraged several online users who have raised concerns about the boys' safety and mental well-being while trying to navigate through the alleged airport mob.
An Engene (the official name of ENHYPEN's fandom) wrote on X lashing out at the careless fans who went to welcome the boys at the Milan airport:
"I hope the ppl in the video who were pushing and shoving eo & their cameras are ashamed. I’m tired of us repeating to be careful & behave when it should be something normal to respect their space. These ppl are literally stalkers & mobbers. Never call them engenes"
Engenes expressed their disappointment and said they refuse to acknowledge these fans as part of their fandom. Some also tried to remind others to be mindful of ENHYPEN's safety.
"I'm so disappointed because this happened in my country, these are not even real engenes, we have said multiple times to not do this, but still fake fans don't listen. if they had the time to go to the airport, why not just go see them at the show which is safer for everyone?" one fan expressed disappointment.
"Like I said before let’s not generalize. We’ve been fighting this type of behavior for a while now. And the company also needs to hire bodyguards and take legal actions. I would rather use the right terms: mobs. Not engenes," another fan wrote.
"This keeps happening over and over but belift is not doing anything, they have to do their part too and grow a backbone to protect enha," another fan added.
Others tagged BELIFT LAB (a HYBE subsidiary label) and brought the situation to their attention. They urged the label to take action and hire more bodyguards to accompany the boy band.
"I genuinely don’t understand what’s the point of this, going to see them at the airport, like do they think after seeing how people behave in these situations the members will hug them or propose, be normal," one fan said.
"Belift and their “we’re gonna take legal actions” and do absolutely nothing," another fan commented.
"This is cringing me out wtf are these ppl doing and they call themselves engenes aswell… just leave them alone and don’t harass them it’s not that hard istg???" one other fan added.
