BIGBANG's G-Dragon is set to perform at the 2024 Mnet Asian Music Awards (MAMA), marking his first appearance on the show in nine years since 2015. 2024 MAMA will be a three-day ceremony, where the first show will be held on November 21, 2024, at Dolby Theater in Los Angeles, United States. The second and the third show of 2024 MAMA will be held in Japan on November 22 and 23, 2024 at the Kyocera Dome Osaka.
Notably, he will perform on the third and final day of the ceremony on November 23, 2024, alongside K-pop girl group (G)I-DLE and soloist BIBI.South Korean and international fans may enjoy G-Dragon and other artists' performances live on Mnet, Mnet K-POP YouTube channel and Mnet TV.
BIGBANG's G-Dragon drops a cryptic teaser hinting at a musical comeback
On October 8, News1 reported that G-Dragon will drop his comeback music release on October 25, 2024. However, as per MK Sports report, his agency Galaxy Corp. issued an official statement denying the release date.
They said,
“We are currently coordinating the comeback date. Nothing has been confirmed regarding the solo comeback on the 25th.”
On October 21, G-Dragon shared a black post with the caption Beyond-black and #hiddengem on fanplus1dotcom, the official fan account of the BIGBANG member on social media. On October 22, Vogue Korea and other Korean media outlets reported that the hint shared by the singer had more to offer, as one brightens up the screen they can see “Loading Progress 10%”.
This has garnered massive attention as speculations of his comeback have been making circles around the internet for a few months.
On October 14, the BIGBANG member garnered online attention for registering a new song titled Power on the ASCAP or American Society of Composers, Authors and Publishers. Following the list of writers, he has collaborated with artists like Tommy Brown and Theron "Uptown AP" Thomas who are known for their Grammy Award achievements.
The ASCAP list for Power also suggested that Hong-jun Park or Teddy Park, a popular producer behind the music for artists like 2NE1, BLACKPINK, Jeon Somi, and more, alongside songwriter Steven R Franks have also joined G-Dragon in this collaboration.
Meanwhile, he was spotted attending his fellow BIGBANG member Taeyang's solo concert The Light Year on September 1, 2024. He also joined him on stage to perform their song WE LIKE 2 PARTY. He is also gearing up for his variety show appearance on You Quiz on the Block.
