On July 18, 2024, BIGHIT MUSIC (now HYBE Labels) dropped the behind-the-scenes footage of BTS' Jin on the group's official YouTube channel, BANGTANTV. The footage encapsulates unseen moments from the backstage of the musician's 2024 FESTA Event fan meeting, which was held at Jamsil Arena on June 13, 2024. This was his first event after his military discharge on June 12, 2024.
The label also released several behind-the-scenes pictures of the Epiphany singer-songwriter via Naver Post. Over 25 pictures were uploaded which were taken during the musician's stage rehearsals to final performances.
In the video, the Super Tuna singer-songwriter was seen arriving at the venue wearing a black shirt, jeans, and Gucci sneakers. He rehearsed his setlist and did a soundcheck onstage along with his background dancers before heading back to get dressed for the main event.
BTS' Jin shares about missing his bandmates and feeling nervous before his solo performance
During the soundcheck, Jin used a bicycle to go around the stage, which is a reference from the music video of his solo single, The Astronaut. He then performed The Astronaut while communicating the soundcheck fine-tuning deets to his crew from the stage. After a few more practice rounds, he went backstage to get ready for the final show.
He expressed feeling nervous about performing onstage after 18 months. He was concerned about falling short in his performance and disappointing his fans, ARMY, who have waited for almost 2 years to meet him. He mentioned that he took calming medicines, however, it didn't work.
Furthermore, he expressed feeling lonely while getting ready without his band members around. Since he was alone and hosting his first-ever solo fan meet concert event, Jin asked his crew if the process had been the same during their group concerts.
The Eiphaphy singer-songwriter arrived meekly onstage and politely asked his fans to forgive him in case he made any mistake during his performance. He expressed feeling nervous, however, he stated looking forward to the event.
The event was divided into two parts. The first one was the "Hug Event," where Jin hugged 1,000 lucky fans among the 4,000 fans who were selected to be part of the event. Those 1,000 fans were picked through a random lucky draw via Weverse. However, the BTS idol prepared food catering service and several gifts for all 4,000 fans in attendance.
The second part consisted of his performances on Super Tuna, The Astronaut, a surprise dance on Jungkook's SEVEN, a mukbang event called 'EAT JIN', and more. The second segment was live-streamed on the Weverse app for only ARMY membership holders. Over 900,000 fans across the world watched the live in real-time.
In other news, the BTS idol was one of the honorable torchbearers at the 2024 Paris Olympics Torch Relay and carried the Olympic Flame at Louvre Pyramid on July 14, 2024, (UTC). Jin became the first Korean artist to carry the flame and represent South Korea at the Olympics.
