Billboard Korea is gearing up for the K POWER 100 Awards to honor some of the renowned and remarkable music artists from the Asian music industry, set to be held in Seoul, South Korea. On Saturday, July 6, Billboard Korea confirmed the K POWER 100 Awards ceremony is in progress, which will take place on Tuesday, August 27, 2024.

Billboard K Vol. 1 release rescheduled

With the increasing popularity of Korean music due to the influence of renowned K-pop groups like BTS, BLACKPINK, Stray Kids, and many more, the America-based media outlet and magazine Billboard announced its expansion in South Korea in January 2024.

On April 15, CEO Mike Van held a press conference accompanied by Kim Yuna, the CEO of Billboard Korea in Seoul, where they announced the release of the first issue of Billboard Korea. Mike Van shared his thoughts on expanding media outlets in Asia while also addressing the operation plans and promoting Korean culture through Korean branches.

He stated,

“At Billboard, we recognize the significance of K-pop and K-music as not just musical genres, but as cultural movements that continue to transcend borders and redefine the landscape of the global entertainment industry.”

Notably, the first volume of the Korean version of the Magazine was initially scheduled to be released in June 2024. However, June passed, and only recently, on July 6, it was confirmed that the first issue, Billboard K Vol. 1, will be out during the award ceremony on August 27, 2024. In a statement reported by OSEN, Billboard Korea stated,

“The 'Billboard K Vol. 1' release schedule, which was announced to be released in June, will be revealed at the 'Billboard K POWER 100' awards ceremony to be held on August 27th in accordance with Billboard HQ's policy.”

The Billboard K POWER 100 Awards ceremony will be held on August 27 in Seoul.
