BLACKPINK’s Lisa takes over Bangkok's Chinatown Yaowarat Road with the latest Rockstar music video

Lisa is a renowned artist, not only for being a part of the K-pop girl group BLACKPINK but also for her solo songs. She was born in Thailand and has paid homage to her country through her solo debut song, LALISA, donning the golden traditional dress of Thailand while sitting on a throne. This time with ROCKSTAR, she turned into a cyberpunk girl while walking around the streets of Yaowarat Road.

Besides the netizens, government officials of Thailand have also shown interest in the filming site of the ROCKSTAR music video, as it is reported to uplift the tourism industry in the country. Amazing Thailand, the official social media of the tourism authority of the country made a post on Facebook highlighting some of the places tourists can visit in Chinatown, after the release of the BLACKPINK member's song.

It stated,

“Yaowarat of Bangkok is now officially the hottest place to be after Lisa’s latest single release, which rocks the entire scene with her ROCKSTAR MV.”

They further added,

“Yaowarat is another old quarter of Bangkok that is brimmed with old and edgy deliciousness. And here is a small list of the area’s Michelin-worthy places, so you can easily follow along!”

On June 26, LLOUD, Lisa’s solo label, dropped the music video teaser on YouTube, where she is seen standing in the middle of Yaowarat Road. Following this, it was reported that she spent over 20,000 Baht (approximately 600 USD) to film her video in Bangkok's Chinatown.

This was after a netizen on X claimed that the K-pop singer paid 20,000 Baht to each store owner on the road to close their shops early as the filming began in the evening to capture the nightlife. This came as a surprise to many Thai netizens, as the road is known to be quite lively and busy with the market running multiple businesses.

Meanwhile, ROCKSTAR is the BLACKPINK rapper's first song project after signing a contract with American music label RCA Records. The label is home to popular artists like Normani, SZA, Shakira, and many more.
