"BLESS MY EARS SOON" - Fans react as 2NE1's CL teases new project ahead of the group’s reported appearance on SBS Gayo since 10 years

South Korean rapper CL of 2NE1 is all over social media for seemingly teasing an upcoming music project. On December 3, CL shared an Instagram story in a recording studio with the caption, “cooking.” According to Korean news outlet IZE, 2NE1 will reportedly perform at the 2024 SBS Gayo Daejeon festival, adding to the fans’ excitement.

However, fans were surprised to notice she was wearing a hoodie with 2NE1’s logo on the back. Many fans presumed that the hoodie indicated she was preparing for a new album with the K-pop girl group. Notably, the last single the group released was Goodbye in 2017, and if the quartet makes a comeback in 2024, it will be their first music in eight years.

On November 22, 2024, during their Welcome Back concert in Jakarta, Indonesia, Park Bom expressed her wish to make new music with the girl group.

“I hope we can comeback, with a NEW ALBUM.”

This statement has raised anticipation among BLACKJACKS (2NE1’s fandom), and they took to social media to express their excitement. However, it is yet to be confirmed by YG Entertainment or the artists themselves. A fan reacted on X:

Fans shared amusing reactions to CL’s Instagram story and Park Bom’s statement at the Jakarta concert. While many wished it was a comeback by the group.

2NE1 is reported to make SBS Gayo Daejeon stage comeback for the first time in 10 years

The K-pop girl group 2NE1 will reportedly appear at the 2024 SBS Gayo Daejeon music festival, as per IZE’s report on December 4. Anticipation is at an all-time high as this would mark their first comeback at the SBS Gayo Daejeon festival in ten years since 2014. The group is remembered for their remarkable performances at the festival, while CL’s collaboration stage with Lee Hyori in 2013 was also enjoyed by K-pop fans.

On the other hand, they made a concert comeback as four members - CL, Sandara Park, Park Bom, and Minzy, with the Welcome Back world tour in Asia. The tour commenced in Seoul with three inaugural shows on October 4, 5, and 6.

The group has performed in cities including Manila, Jakarta, and Kobe s. They will continue to perform in cities like Hong Kong, Tokyo, Singapore, Pak Kret, Kuala Lumpur, Taoyuan, Ho Chi Minh City, and Macau as the last show on February 23, 2024.
