Mingyu dons Dior in the September 2024 campaign

Mingyu was officially announced as a Dior ambassador on August 1, 2024. After attending several brand events over the past few months, fans were overjoyed by this confirmation.

Following the announcement, Vogue Korea revealed him as the face of the September 2024 magazine cover. In the fashion world, September covers are considered extremely meaningful. The September issue is typically the biggest issue of the year, featuring the most advertisements, editorials, and fashion spreads.

Being chosen as the cover star for Vogue Korea's September issue is a milestone for Mingyu. Vogue Korea showcased him in six different posts, each accompanied by unique captions.

In the first post, Mingyu is featured in two photos. In the first, he wears a long, gray, free-flowing tunic paired with matching trousers. A belt of the same fabric cinches his waist, adding a touch of structure to the ensemble. The second outfit is a khaki blazer suit, reminiscent of his initial teaser images from this campaign. He pairs the blazer with a ruffled, high-neck inner top.

One of the twelve photos focuses on just the inner top, offering a close-up shot where he poses with his hands on his face, highlighting the ruffled sleeves.

Among these images, a striking black-and-white close-up shows him with his eyes closed, exuding a calm and introspective vibe. Another series of photos presents him in dark gray trousers, an apparent polo shirt, and a long, lighter grey trench coat. One of these black-and-white shots captures the singer seated on a chair in a corner, using the wall as part of his pose.

In a more mysterious image from the same post, he wears a hood with strands of hair falling across his face in a blurred photograph, holding a white rose delicately in his hand. The final image in this set features him in a formal light blue shirt with black stripe lines, paired with a burgundy jacket adorned with a chain, captured from a side angle.

In another post, the SEVENTEEN star strikes a dynamic pose in a long blazer and trouser set, hands in his pockets, exuding confidence. The second slide of this post, a fan favorite, is a four-photo collage where he wears brown leather pants, a beige deep-neck sweater, and a light brown trench coat. Each frame in the collage captures Mingyu in a different pose, showcasing his effortless ability to embody various styles.

The third image in this post shows him in a black blazer, sitting side-on with his right hand over his mouth, gazing intently into the camera. The last image is a portrait shot with a red backdrop and feathers floating around, creating a dreamy atmosphere. Mingyu wears a textured, asymmetrical-collar upper adorned with a brooch spelling out "D I O R."

Accompanying these images are three concept films, each capturing different angles of the photoshoots. All outfits are from Dior's 2024 winter collection, inspired by Soviet ballerino Rudolf Nureyev.

Mingyu's portfolio now includes 31 magazine covers, among them Cosmopolitan, ARENA, ELLE KOREA, and Dazed Korea, with these three Vogue covers being his latest additions. Fans are eagerly anticipating the release of this September issue and are excited about what his new ambassadorship with Dior will bring.
