On January 11, 2025, the SMTown Live 2025 event kicked off with numerous performances of fan-favorite K-pop artists and groups. Aside from contemporary K-pop stars, SM Entertainment showcased members of the famed female group SES. Two members of this three-person trio attended the SMTown Live 2025 Day 1 event in Seoul.
SM Entertainment arranged the SMTown Live to commemorate its 30th anniversary. Thus, the firm invited various singers who were once popular among K-pop fans but are no longer active in the industry, one of them being SES.
SES consists of three members: Bada, Eugene, and Shoo. Bada gave two stunning performances— one with aespa’s Karina and Winter on their track Dreams Come True, and the other with Kim Ryeowook on their collaborative track Cosmic. Eugene joined Bada after her performance.

SES supporters were ecstatic to see Bada and Eugene together on stage, and flooded the internet with comments about their reunion.
“S.E.S legends Bada and Eugene reunite on stage, bringing back memories of K-pop's golden era...,” one of them stated.
Many other reactions to the reunion of Bada and Eugene during the SMTown Live 2025 Day 1 concert were seen online. While some described it as the “iconic reunion moment,” others said they looked “fantastic.”

The Seoul Day 1 event of SMTown Live 2025 was held in the Gocheok Sky Dome. The grand anniversary celebrations of SM showcased several performances from renowned K-pop groups including aespa, NCT, Red Velvet, WavyV, BoA, SM male Trainees (SMTR25), RIIZE, and more.
As the part of concert's stage remake live, K-pop artists performed songs by other artists. For instance, RIIZE performed Hug by TVXQ, while Red Velvet covered Girl Generation’s Run Devil Run. Similarly, other artists like BoA sang SHINee's Jonghyun’s End of a Day and aespa covered Rum Pum Pum Pum by f(x).
The SMTown Live 2025 celebrations will continue for Day 2 in Seoul at the same location. Fans can enjoy the event both offline and online through streaming tickets.
More about the female group SES
SM Entertainment founded the Korean female group SES in 1997. Bada, Eugene, and Shoo were the three members of the group. With 650,000 copies sold, their debut album, titled I'm Your Girl, ranked third among female groups in Korea in terms of album sales.
After contract renewal talks with Bada and Eugene failed in December 2002, the group formally split. Shoo continued her career with SM until 2006. Beautiful Songs, a compilation CD, was their last release, published in the middle of 2003.
