Family by Choice star Jung Chae-yeon has denied dating her co-star Hwang In-youp after demonstrating strong chemistry on the show. On November 28, Jung Chae-yeon sat for an interview with Sports Daily, sharing her experience filming Family by Choice alongside Hwang In-youp and Bae Hyun-sung.

In the interview, she mentioned how she prepared for the romantic scenes while also building up synergies with the cast members.

She said,

“We actually tried to show good chemistry. Before filming the romance scene, the director sent me a lot of references. So I referenced them a lot and rehearsed a lot. I'm grateful for the good response. I feel like my good chemistry has been recognized."

She further refuted the dating rumors about Hwang In-youp, saying,

“Absolutely not. I can't be dating. We're family."

This has garnered attention from online fans who enjoy watching Korean dramas. Following the storyline, Jung Chae-yeon’s character, Yoon Ju-won, and Hwang In-youp’s role, Kim San-ha, grew up together as a family.

Hwang In-youp and Jung Chae-yeon who recently led Family by Choice, a Korean drama adapted from the Chinese series titled Go Ahead, gained attention online for their on-screen chemistry in the show. On November 28, 2024, in an interview with JTBC, Hwang In-youp shared how he formed a bond with his co-actor during the filming of Family By Choice.

“They told me that a lot. I thought, ‘We really have good chemistry.’ I didn’t expect that at all.”

He further talked about an incident he shared with Jung Chae-yeon, who tried to prank him with cucumber, a vegetable he is not fond of.

He said,

“When I came to the set, I was so excited to joke around. I have a hard time with the smell of cucumbers, but one day Jung Chae-yeon came to the waiting room and offered me a cucumber. She was trying to tease me. We became like family.”
