On July 17, 2024, the South Korean actors Gong Yoo and Lee Dong-wook were featured in the latest advertisement for a domestic company, SK Enmove, sending fans into a frenzy. The company uploaded five videos through its official YouTube Channel. SK Enmove has been known for providing quality lube base oil products that facilitate automobile fuel efficiency.

In the advertisement videos, Gong Yoo and Lee Dong-wook donned casual summer outfits and detailed the benefits of having SK Enmove. The duo discussed the energy-saving and cost-effective advantages provided by the brand, while seemingly enjoying a vacation near the swimming pool area.

Soon, Gong Yoo and Lee Dong-wook's advertisement videos circulated on social media, and fans could not get enough of their onscreen chemistry. Subsequently, an X user commented:

Netizens expressed their joy watching Gong Yoo and Lee Dong-wook in an advertisement together, flaunting their legendary bromance. The duo acted together in the hit drama Goblin, where they won viewers' hearts with their chemistry. Since then, whenever they have been reunited for any project, fans expressed their desire to see them in another drama again.

"Ah yes just gong yoo and lee dong wook being twin divas," a fan reacted.
"They need to maximise their joint slay by starring in a new drama together again," a fan shared.
"Gong yoo trying not to giggle while dongwook sulks and clings onto him … WE GET IT . WE GET IT !!!!!!!!!" a fan commented.
"Their bromance is so strong they lasted up until today," a fan mentioned.

Some K-drama fans also referred to the duo as an old married couple and stated that they have healed their broken heart. Some fans also sarcastically passed remarks that when they were claiming Gong Yoo as their boyfriend they needed to fight Lee Dong-wook as their strong opponent.

Gong Yoo and Lee Dong-wook shared a love-hate kind of relationship in the hit 2016 drama Guardian: The Lonely and Great God (Goblin). They were featured alongside talented actors, including Kim Go-eun, Yoo In-na, and Yook Suk-jae. The drama was penned by the talented screenwriter Kim Eun-sook, known for projects, including The Heirs, Descendants of the Sun, Mr.Sunshine, and The Glory.

Lee Dong-wook and Gong Yoo chronicled the characters of Grim Reaper/Wang Yeo and Goblin/ Kim Shin in the romance and fantasy series. While their characters shared an ill-fated relationship in the past, the duo reconciled in the present times when they had to live with Ji Eun-tak (played by Kim Go-eun).

The drama emerged as the seventh highest-rated series in the history of Korean cable television. It recorded an impressive 18.68% nationwide viewership ratings and promoted K-culture internationally. Gong Yoo also won the Best Actor Award for The Guardian: The Lonely and Great God at the 53rd Baeksang Arts Awards.

Gong Yoo debuted as an actor in the 2001 drama School 4 and went on to take multiple supporting roles in the dramas and movies. The actor got his first leading role in SBS's 2005 drama Hello My Teacher alongside Gong Hyo-jin and made his breakthrough with the comedy series, Coffee Prince. The artist is also known for his hit movie Train to Busan and made a cameo appearance in the Netflix series Squid Game.

Meanwhile, Lee Dong-wook made his acting debut in a single-episode MBC Drama in 1999 and also bagged the grand prize in the V-NESS model contest in the same year. The actor received his major breakthrough with the hit 2005 romantic comedy My Girl. He is best known for his roles in the series, including Hell Is Other People, Bad and Crazy, Tale of the Nine-Tailed, and recently appeared in A Shop for Killers.


While Gong Yoo is gearing up to return with Squid Game second season, Lee Dong-wook is reportedly confirmed to appear in many series, including Divorce Insurance and The Good Man.
