On May 16, 2024, BTS' Dynamite created a new wave as it was played in the latest season of the popular Netflix series, Bridgerton. Shondaland brought back the hit series, set in the backdrop of the British Regency era for its third round. The show is based on the acclaimed novel series written by Julia Quinn. While fans of the show cheered for the comeback, K-pop fans celebrated as they witnessed BTS' presence in the American historical romance television series.

The original track by the K-pop juggernaut, released in 2020, was scored in an orchestral rendition specifically to fit the show's setting and script. The new rendition was released on YouTube as well by Capitol Records. For the unversed, Universal Music Group owns Capitol Records, LLC, an American record label, under the Capitol Music Group moniker.

Fans burst with excitement as the highly anticipated third season of the popular historical drama premiered along with the track by the K-pop sensation playing in the backdrop of the ball. The show's new season focuses on the characters of Penelope Featherington, played by Nicola Coughlan, and Colin Bridgerton, played by Luke Newton.

BTS' Dynamite captivates viewers across the world with its new rendition by Vitamin String Quartet

Leading the charge in this musical reworking is the American ensemble Vitamin String Quartet, widely recognized for revitalizing a variety of musical genres, including pop, rock, metal, emo, punk, techno, country, and hip-hop. Alongside Dynamite, the orchestra has reimagined hit tracks such as Billie Eilish's Happier Than Ever, Nick Jonas' Jealous, and Snow On The Beach by Taylor Swift and Lana Del Ray, among others.

Furthermore, several TV programs, such as Gossip Girl, The Vampire Diaries, House, and Modern Family, have used their compositions on their reworked soundtracks. The band shared a fresh update on their official X handle (WeAreVSQ) about the tracks that they have rightfully reworked for the latest season of Bridgerton.

Furthermore, BTS' Dynamite was featured specifically in episode 2 of the latest season along with several other tracks. Such as String Quartet in B flat Major op 130 – VII Finale by BMGPM, Concerto for Violin, Orch in E-Major, Allegro Assai by APM, Cover of Nick Jonas’ Jealous by Shimmer, Piano Sonata No. 23 in F Minor, Op. 57 ‘Appassionata’: II. Andante con moto by BMGPM, and more.

Previously, in 2022, Vitamin String Quartet took to X and asked the BTS fandom - known online as Adorable Representative M.C. for Youth aka ARMY - about any particular song request. ARMYs flooded their post with suggestions ranging from the septet's Epiphany, Black Swan, Spring Day, Blue & Grey, House of Cards, Serendipity, Mikrokosmos, The Truth Untold, and Louder Than Bombs, among others.

Vitamin String Quartet probed the fandom further about the relatively less inclination towards BTS' IDOL with a fun tweet in which they wrote, "No love for "IDOL" yet?". Given the Bridgerton series set in the British Regency era between c. 1795 and 1837, ARMYs seem to have chosen songs that had an antique aura to them such as Black Swan and Blue & Grey.

Furthermore, the American company Kraft Natural Cheese under Groupe Lactalis even replied to the tweet and wrote, "If you don't use Black Swan...", highlighting BTS' expanding influence and popularity.

Notably, the song Dynamite is a disco-pop tune that explores the concepts of finding happiness, self-assurance, self-identity, and vitality in the little things which suits the latest season of the Netflix series which revolves around the "wallflower" Penelope Featherington. The song is a lively disco number with synth sounds mixed with popping percussion, funk, and soul influences.

There will be eight episodes in all, divided into two halves, for Bridgerton season 3. On May 16, 2024, Netflix released the first four episodes, and the next four will be premiered together on June 13.
