BTS' J-Hope has been nominated for five distinct categories at the 2024 Korea Grand Music Awards (KGMA) happening at Incheon's INSPIRE Arena. The inaugural award function has announced its nominations across various categories. This event aims to honor Korean musical artists for their global impact in promoting K-culture, with a focus on both popularity and equity.
The BTS rapper was selected under the categories:

J-Hope released his first soundtrack and extended play, HOPE ON THE STREET VOL.1, on March 29, 2024.
The EP focuses on the idol's vast artistic background in street dance. He worked with artists from Korea and abroad. This includes American songwriter and record producer Nile Rodgers, Benny Blanco, and Korean talents like JINBO the SuperFreak, Jungkook of BTS, and Huh Yunjin of LE SSERAFIM, among others.
However, J-Hope is not the only BTS member to be nominated this year at the Korea Grand Music Awards. The nominations were also extended to members RM, Suga, Jimin, V, and Jungkook in various divisions. This includes categories like 'KGMA Artist', 'KGMA Song' (Best 10 Songs, Best Hip-Hop), and 'KGMA Trend Of The Yea' (Kpop Solo).
The 2024 Korea Grand Music Awards: A look at what we know so far
The Korea Grand Music Awards is newly launched by Daily Sports, Korea's leading entertainment and sports magazine. It also founded the popular Golden Disc Awards in 1986 and operated it for 34 years until 2020.
As the 2024, KGMA is set to be held from November 16 to November 17, 2024. The production has already disclosed its star-studded list of attendees, ranging from MCs to performers.
On August 12, the KGMA Organizing Committee announced that the event would be held at Korea's first multipurpose indoor performance venue, the INSPIRE Arena, in Unseo-dong, Jung-gu, Incheon.
As per the KGMA Organizing Committee's declaration on August 28, NewJeans' Hanni and actor Nam Ji-hyun, who viewers know from her roles in Little Women (2022) and Good Partner (2024) will be seen hosting the gathering on Day one. Nam Ji-hyun will be hosting on Day 2 with Aespa's Winter.
A diverse lineup of performers has been announced for the grand K-pop festival. The first lineup includes NewJeans, NiziU, Aespa, ATEEZ, ZEROBASEONE, and SHINee's Taemin. The second lineup will be announced soon.
The executive production of the inaugural Korea Grand Music Awards will be overseen by Funky Studio's CEO, Han Dong-chul. He was responsible for directing the first MAMA and establishing it as Mnet's flagship awards event. He was also instrumental in planning and producing famous shows like Show Me the Money, Unpretty Rapstar, and Produce 101.
Fans can participate in the voting process through mobile voting. The mobile voting period will be live from September 12 to November 9, 2024, with the first round of voting from September 1 to September 30, 2024.
