On September 3, 2024, reports indicated that BTS' Jung Hoseok, also known as j-hope, purchased a second apartment for 12 billion KRW (about $9.2 million), just a month after buying a duplex penthouse. The new apartment is right below the penthouse and is located in an affluent complex, Afer Hangang.
As reported by Allkpop, BTS' j-hope allegedly signed the papers for the purchase of the apartment in June 2020. However, he fully paid off its cost by July 2024 and attained full transfer rights to his name. Reportedly, the new complex is estimated around 11 billion and 12 billion KRW (about $8.4 million to $9.2 million).
The Jack in The Box rapper-songwriter paid cash for both residences totaling more than 20 billion KRW, or around $15.4 million, as per the current market price. Furthermore, the BTS sensation reportedly did not take out any mortgage loan for the purchasing of both apartments.

BTS' j-hope bought a luxurious penthouse in Afer Hangang, in Seoul's Seobinggo-dong and Yongsan-gu neighborhoods, in June 2024 with full cash. Ten Asia reported that the Arson rapper's new property is spread across two floors and 273.86 square meters.
j-hope acquired full possession of the land assigned to him back in 2020 as a result of the sale, which was completed on June 10, 2024. The Afer Hangang penthouse is reportedly valued at over 12 billion KRW, or about $8.9 million, and spans from the 5th basement to the 10th level above ground.
Apart from purchasing two apartments in Afer Hangang, the BTS rapper also owns two properties in the Forest Trimage complex. He bought the 32 pyeong (105.78 sq. mt.) in size apartment in 2016. He then bought a second apartment in Trimage of 204.95 sq. mt. in 2016 for 3.7 billion KRW (or $2.66 million) in cash.
Meanwhile, his latest purchase of a luxurious penthouse and an apartment in Afer Hangang is adjacent to Yongsan Park and offers stunning views of the park and the Han River, adding to its appeal as a desirable residential area. Due to its reputation as a desirable address for wealthy people, residents enjoy perks including home cleaning, concierge services, and private limousines.
It features 26 apartments with sizes ranging from 205.84 to 273.94 square meters, all designed by famous architect Professor Yoo Hyun-joon of Hongik University.
