BTS’ Jimin became the first and only Korean singer to top two Spotify US City Annual Charts with his solo singles WHO and Like Crazy. Star News reported on December 10 that both tracks were among the year’s most streamed, with Like Crazy amassing over 1.3 billion streams to date, while WHO has surpassed 1.15 billion streams on Spotify.

WHO topped the Atlanta chart among US City Annual Charts, and Like Crazy, released in 2023, topped the Los Angeles chart.

The Grammy-nominated artist's success extended to the Billboard charts, with Like Crazy, the lead single from his solo debut album FACE, debuting at No. 1 on the Billboard Hot 100 in April 2023. This marked a major achievement as the first Korean soloist to claim the top spot.

The song also maintained impressive runs on the Billboard Global 200 and Global 200 (Excl. US), charting for 61 and 68 weeks, respectively. Meanwhile, WHO, the lead track from his second solo album, MUSE (July 2024), topped both Billboard Global 200 and Global 200 (Excl. US) charts.

BTS' Jimin's solo career so far

Jimin’s debut solo album FACE, released on March 24, 2023, showcased his artistic depth, blending synth-pop and R&B elements. Produced and co-written by Jimin alongside renowned collaborators such as Pdogg and fellow BTS member RM, FACE featured standout tracks like Set Me Free Pt. 2 and Alone.

In 2024, the BTS singer released his sophomore solo album, MUSE, further exploring themes of self-reflection and growth. Its tracklist included hits like Be Mine and Slow Dance (feat. Sofia Carson), co-produced by HYBE’s in-house team and global producers, blending Eastern and Western influences.

The musician's solo efforts were recognized at the 2024 MTV Europe Music Awards, where he bagged the Best K-Pop award for WHO. This was his first-ever global award as a soloist.

As per South Korea's mandatory enlistment requirements, Jimin began his military service in late 2023. However, before enlisting, he wrapped up filming his Disney+ travel show ARE YOU SURE?!, with fellow BTS member Jungkook.

The series provided fans with an intimate look at their friendship and adventures, offering a heartfelt farewell before his temporary departure from the public eye.

In other news, ARE YOU SURE?! consists of 8 episodes and is available on Disney+ for global streaming. Episodes 3 to 5 also saw the special appearance of BTS' Kim Taehyung, as the trio explored Jeju Island before heading to their military enlistment in December 2023.

Jimin, Jungkook, and Taehyung will reportedly be discharged from the military in June 2025.
