BTS' Jimin’s birthday sparks global wave of donations for humanitarian and conservation initiatives

In the wake of BTS' Jimin’s 29th birthday, fans did an unexpected thing to celebrate. Donations were made in huge numbers to different organizations by varied fan club pages to honor the BTS star. Sincere efforts were made by several fan clubs in order to uplift the living conditions of people below the poverty level.

These acts of kindness were inspired by the consistent efforts of charity made by the BTS star himself over the years. To support his humility and represent it to the world, the fan clubs decided to do it on his behalf. As he currently serves in the military, these efforts have left smiles on the faces of ARMYs worldwide.

Jimin's birthday encourages charitable acts around the world

In celebration of Jimin's 29th birthday, ARMYs worldwide showed their charitable spirit by making significant donations in his honor rather than organizing traditional parties. These fans followed his lead in philanthropy, supporting various causes in his name.

One of the most remarkable efforts was a five-year-long blood donation relay with the Korean Red Cross, where 2,545 people participated between 2018 and 2024. The blood certificates collected will be donated under his name.

In Myanmar, his fan club made donations to communities affected by floods and political unrest, providing essential supplies such as food, water, medicine, and clothing. Aid was distributed to six villages along the Sittoung River and displaced families in Karenni State.

Meanwhile, the Latin fanbase "JiminLatinFB" donated to the American Cancer Society to support breast cancer research, as well as to the Wildlife Conservation Network to help preserve endangered wildcats.

His Asia-Pacific fan club donated to the NGO, Save the Children, and Doctors Without Borders, which provides humanitarian medical services around the world.These names are only a few as several others have taken varied steps to come forward to donate.

The BTS star himself has been involved in multiple charitable efforts over the years. Most recently, in May 2024, he donated 100 million KRW to fund scholarships for students from low-income families in Gyeongsangnam-do. During the COVID-19 pandemic in 2020, he contributed 100 million KRW to the Hope Bridge Korea Disaster Relief Association to help those affected.

In 2021, he donated another 100 million KRW to the Green Umbrella Children’s Foundation, which aids underprivileged children. In 2023, he and fellow BTS member J-Hope collectively donated $156,000 to UNICEF to support earthquake relief efforts in Turkey and Syria.

These fan-driven initiatives have filled fellow ARMYs with pride, reflecting the impact of Jimin's generous endeavors.
