BTS Jimin dropped MUSE on July 19, 2024, which reached No. 1 on the UK iTunes Album Chart, making him the first K-Pop act in 2024 to achieve this feat. Additionally, he also became the first and only K-pop soloist to debut multiple albums at No. 1 on the US iTunes Chart - MUSE and FACE.

Meanwhile, the album has reached No. 1 across 63 countries on the iTunes Worldwide Album Chart including the United Kingdom, United States, Vietnam, Hong Kong, and Russia, among others. He earned this milestone within 10 hours of his album release.

MUSE consists of 7 tracks and they are as follows:

  2. Interlude: SHOWTIME
  3. Smeraldo Garden Marching Band (feat. Loco)
  4. SLOW DANCE (feat. Sofia Carson)
  5. Be Mine
  6. WHO
  7. Closer Than This

BTS Jimin makes history with 3 of his new album songs achieving 100 #1's on iTunes Worldwide Song Chart

Closer Than This was originally released as a digital signal on December 22, 2023, via BIGHIT MUSIC. The song was dedicated to ARMY and its video was a compilation of the musician's happiest moments spent with his fans since 2013. The track was later included in MUSE as one of its pre-released singles.

Closer Than This was Jimin's fourth solo single that achieved a "Perfect All-Kill" (PAK) on the iTunes Worldwide Song Chart after reaching #1 across 119 countries. His second pre-release track, Smeraldo Garden Marching Band (feat. Loco), achieved #1 hits across 119 countries and joined the "Perfect All-Kill" list.

As of July 19, 2024, he is the first and only artist to have 5 "Perfect All-Kill" in the entire history of the iTunes Worldwide Song Chart. The other three tracks are Like Crazy, With You, and Filter.

In other news, Park Jimin of BTS enlisted in the military on December 12, 2023, and has to serve his mandatory service term till June 2025. Meanwhile, his travel show with Jungkook, Are You Sure?, will air on Disney+ on August 8, 2024. The travel show will have 8 episodes and show Jimin and Jungkook's fun adventures across Jeju Island, Japan, and New York.
