BTS' Park Jimin is set to release his second solo album, MUSE, on July 19, 2024. The GRAMMY-nominated South Korean artist dropped the album's pre-release track, Smeraldo Garden Marching Band (feat. Loco), on June 28, 2024. The song became the fastest track by a K-pop act in 2024 to reach No. 1 in over 100 countries on iTunes.
Meanwhile, the song extended its achievement as it became his first song to reach No. 1 in 117 countries on the iTunes Worldwide Song Chart on July 15, 2024. Previously, the song debuted at the top of the Worldwide iTunes Song and European iTunes Song charts.

Smeraldo Garden Marching Band (feat. Loco) was co-written by Jimin, Pdogg, Evan, and GHSTLOOP. The three music producers from HYBE also made a special appearance in the song's official music video. Furthermore, American songwriter and music producer Tommy Brown contributed to the production of the song.
The track's distinct large band and hip-hop sound combination reminds listeners of a marching band. It is loosely inspired by The Beatles' 1967 album, Sgt. Pepper's Lonely Hearts Club Band. The song's music video amassed over 5.2 million views on YouTube on June 29, 2024, and immediately entered the 'Trending Music' list on the platform.
On Spotify, the song earned its biggest debut by a K-pop and Korean act in 2024 and gained over 8 million unfiltered streams. As of July 15, 2024, Jimin became the 5th most-streamed K-pop solo artist on Spotify, with over 3.6 billion streams across all credits. Currently, Smeraldo Garden Marching Band has amassed 79 million streams in 18 days.
Forbes reported that Jimin's Smeraldo Garden Marching Band debuted at No. 7 on the Billboard Global (Excl. US) chart. As of July 12, the song is among the top 20 most-listened singles worldwide, debuting at No. 16 on the Billboard Global 200. The song debuted at No. 88 on the Billboard Hot 100, making it Loco's first entry in the chart and Jimin's fifth solo single.
The Like Crazy singer-songwriter broke his tie with BTS' j-hope, Suga, and Taehyung, who have four songs each charted on the Billboard Hot 100 list. He is now the second BTS member after Jungkook to chart the most number of songs on the Hot 100.
Additionally, the Promise singer-songwriter now ties with the South Korean rapper PSY to have five songs each enter the American music chart.
