BTS Jimin's MUSE continues to break records
BTS Jimin's MUSE earned his biggest streaming day of all time on Spotify on July 19, 2024, with nearly 30.5 million streams. On July 21, the album amassed 26.3 million streams in 24 hours on Spotify. WHO also entered the Top 5 on the Global Spotify Charts on July 20 at No. 3.
Jimin sets the milestone with WHO, becoming the first and only K-solo act to ever reach 1 million plays on the Spotify USA Daily Top Songs Chart, previously held by Like Crazy. The BTS idol released his debut solo album, FACE, on March 24, 2023, and its title track, Like Crazy, dominated several music charts, including topping the Billboard Hot 100.
Meanwhile, Smeraldo Garden Marching Band (feat. Loco) is loosely inspired by The Beatles and their 1967 album, Sgt. Pepper’s Lonely Hearts Club Band. The BTS singer's track incorporated the marching band's beats and psychedelic imagery to create an upbeat and happy song.
WHO is a contrasting song that brings back the 90s jazzy beats as Jimin sings and dances along a neon-lit street at night, wishing to find his soulmate. The song is built of the singer's high-octave baritones which are layered with synthesizer tunes, pop-funk beats, and saxophone rhythms.
In other news, Park Jimin is serving in the South Korean military and will return in June 2025 after fulfilling 18 months of mandatory service. His latest album was pre-recorded ahead of his December 2023 enlistment and was released via BIGHIT MUSIC on July 19, 2024.
