On August 14, 2024, BTS' Jimin's song WHO marked its third consecutive week on the Billboard Hot 100, making it the first K-pop soloist track in 2024 to achieve this. Released on July 19 as the title track of his second solo album MUSE, WHO is now at No. 24, after spending two weeks at No. 12. The song has surpassed 255 million streams on Spotify and gained an additional 22 million streams across its 6 other versions.

WHO debuted at No. 1 on the Billboard Global 200 and the Billboard Global 200 Excl. US charts and the album ranked at No. 2 on the Billboard 200 chart. The title track entered at No. 4 on the Official Singles Chart, earning the idol his first UK chart entry.

More about Jimin's WHO and his second solo album MUSE

WHO hit #1 on iTunes in 110 countries, making Jimin the first solo artist in 2024 to achieve this feat within 24 hours of the song's official release. The song also topped the iTunes European Worldwide chart. Additionally, MUSE also entered over 83 countries at No. 1 on the iTunes Album Chart.

The album's pre-released track, Smeraldo Garden Marching Band (feat. LOCO) surpassed 100 million streams on July 21. It became the fastest song by a K-pop soloist to earn this record in 2024. Billboard reported that the 1967 album Sgt. Pepper's Lonely Hearts Club Band by legendary rock group The Beatles served as the inspiration for Jimin's song's title.

Later, Jimin with producers Pdogg, EVAN, and GHSTLOOP shared that they were inspired by The Beatles as it is one of the favorite bands of the BTS idol.

Meanwhile, Billboard ranked the seven tracks from MUSE, placing WHO at No. 1, Be Mine at No. 2 due to its Latin and Afrobeat inspirations, and SLOW DANCE feat. Sofia Carson at No. 3 for its refreshing R&B groove.

MUSE was released after the BTS idol's military enlistment in the Republic of Korea Army in December 2023. The album followed the release of his debut solo album, FACE, released in March 2023. FACE's title track, Like Crazy, debuted at No. 1 on the Billboard Hot 100 chart in April 2023, making history as the first K-pop solo act to top the chart.

In other news, Jimin has 3 Guinness World Records for the 'Fastest solo K-pop artist to reach 1 billion streams on Spotify (male)' along with the 'Most streamed track on SoundCloud' and 'Most streamed track on SoundCloud in 24 hours' both for his solo track Promise.
