More about BTS Jimin's new song, WHO
WHO is the title track from Jimin's second solo record, MUSE, released on July 19, 2024. The record was released 16 months after his debut solo album, FACE, which was dropped on March 24, 2023.
On August 3 (KST), WHO surpassed 155.5 million streams on Spotify, excluding 10.84 million daily average streams. The album's other track, Smeraldo Garden Marching Band (feat. Loco), surpassed 124 million and was the first track of the album to amass over 100 million streams. It was also the fastest track to achieve this feat in 2024.
It is crucial to note that MUSE includes the BTS idol's fan song, Closer Than This, released on December 22, 2023, as a digital single. The song crossed 100 million streams on Spotify, in March 2024 and was later added to the album as a pre-released track.
Thereafter, on July 21, 2024, Smeraldo Garden Marching Band (feat. Loco) became the second track from MUSE to surpass the Spotify 100 million streams threshold.
WHO was co-written by BTS' Jimin, GHSTLOOP, Tenroc, Pdogg, Pete Nappi, and the Grammy-winning American musician, Jon Bellion. The song was recorded and composed in Jon Bellion's New York studio as seen in the BTS idol's ‘MUSE’ Recording Behind YouTube video.
MUSE ranked No. 2 on both the Billboard US World Albums chart and the Billboard 200 chart. Furthermore, the BTS singer-songwriter's debut solo album FACE debuted at No. 1 on the Billboard US World Albums and stayed on the chart for 63 consecutive weeks.
Meanwhile, MUSE includes 7 tracks:
- Rebirth (Intro)
- Interlude: Showtime
- Smeraldo Garden Marching Band (feat. Loco)
- Slow Dance (feat. Sofia Carson)
- Be Mine
- WHO
- Closer Than This
In other news, BTS' Jimin is serving mandatory enlistment service in the South Korean military since December 12, 2023. He will return in June 2025 to resume group activities.
