On July 29, 2024, BTS' Jimin won his first Melon Weekly Popularity Award for his latest track, WHO. He won with 66% votes, surpassing G-(I)DLE's Klanox, which earned 63% votes. Meanwhile, for the 2024 August Melon Weekly Popularity Award, the BTS idol is leading with 58% of the votes.
On July 19, Jimin dropped his latest album, MUSE. This album marked the second solo set from his arsenal with seven tracks, including the popular Smeraldo Garden Marching Band (feat. LOCO). The song is a pre-release single from his latest album and has surpassed 116 million streams on Spotify as of July 29.
For the unversed, the Melon chart is a Korean music chart that ranks artists based on their popularity vote. It also hosts an annual award show to honor K-pop artists for their outstanding releases.
BTS' Jimin releases his solo albums MUSE and FACE in little over a year
For the unversed, FACE was released on March 24, 2023, as the BTS idol's debut solo album. The album's lead single, Like Crazy, debuted at No. 1 on the Billboard Hot 100, making him the first Korean and K-pop solo act to top the chart. It was also his first self-written song to top the Hot 100.
Following this, he dropped his second solo set, MUSE, on July 19, 2024. This album was in stark contrast with his previous release. FACE spoke about his depression, struggles with loneliness, anxiety, and feeling detached from the world, while MUSE centers on the themes of finding love and new inspiration to live.
On July 29, 2024, MUSE debuted at No. 2 on the Billboard 200 chart. Earlier, in 2023, Jimin's FACE peaked at No. 2 on the US music chart. He becomes the first K-pop soloist to chart multiple albums in the Top 5 of the Billboard 200.

The show, Are You Sure?!, is an eight-episode reality series filled with hilarious moments of the duo's journey across New York, Sapporo (Japan), and Jeju Island (South Korea). It will air its first two episodes on Disney+ on August 8, 2024.
Meanwhile, BTS' Jimin is serving his mandatory military service in the Republic of Korea Army and will return in June 2025.
