BTS Jimin makes history by becoming the only artist to achieve this feat
Jimin's latest iTunes chart achievement with Smeraldo Garden Marching Band ft. Loco marks his first song of 2024 to reach this milestone. However, this is not his first time dominating the global iTunes charts; he has previously had five other songs achieve significant success.
Here is a list of his six solo songs with the most #1 rankings on iTunes globally:
- With You - 119
- Like Crazy - 119
- Closer Than This - 119
- Filter - 118
- Set Me Free Pt.2 - 113
- Smeraldo Garden Marching Band - 113 (NEW)
Two of the six songs on the list, Set Me Free Pt.2 and Like Crazy, are from the BTS member's debut solo album, FACE, which he released before enlisting in the military whereas With You is the official soundtrack of the 2022 drama Our Blues, where the singer-dancer collaborated with his singer friend Ha Sung-woon.
Closer Than This was released in 2023 as a heartfelt song dedicated to his fandom, ARMY. Lastly, Filter is Jimin's solo song from the group's 2020 album Map of the Soul: 7.
Even after nearly two weeks since its release, Jimin's latest track continues to top various music streaming platforms. On YouTube, the music video is trending at #28 in the music category, boasting an impressive 15 million views at the time of writing this article.
On Spotify, the Serendipity singer has made history as the first and only solo artist to reach #1 on the Spotify South Korea Daily Top Artists Chart for the 350th time.
All the other BTS members are currently fulfilling their military service, except the eldest member, Jin, who recently completed his service and has been discharged.
J-Hope is also scheduled to be discharged later this year. RM, V, Jungkook, and Jimin are expected to return next year, marking the group's anticipated reunion.
