On August 9, 2024, BTS member Jimin achieved a significant milestone as South Korean music chart analysis company, Hanteo, released its 'TOP 30' list for the first week of August.
The chart covers country-specific rankings, including those from the US, Japan, and China. With his latest solo album titled MUSE, Jimin has dominated the top positions across all three countries' charts, amassing an impressive total of 16,273.72 points.
The BTS idol dropped his second solo album MUSE on July 19, 2024, and has since achieved record-breaking success on various music charts. Hanteo, known for its real-time music rankings, has provided data for the first week of August, covering the period from July 29 to August 4.
For those unaware, Hanteo's country-specific chart offers a comprehensive look at global K-pop trends, leveraging advanced big data technology for real-time collection and analysis.
BTS' Jimin dominates country-specific Hanteo Charts with MUSE
Updated weekly every Friday, the Hanteo chart integrates a wide range of information, including album sales, digital streaming figures, and social media engagement. By consolidating data from these various sources, it provides an accurate and up-to-date snapshot of the K-pop landscape across different countries.
In the US, Jimin's album MUSE has topped the country-specific list with a score of 16,273.72 points. He is followed by Stray Kids' ATE in second place, accumulating 15,573.13 points, while ENHYPEN’s Romance: Untold has taken third place with 12,384.54 points.
In Japan, the BTS member's album has continued its success by leading the chart with 9,344.84 points. ILLIT's SUPER REAL ME secures second place with 6,310.43 points, and Stray Kids’ ATE occupies the third position with 6,190.23 points.
In China, Jimin’s title track from the album Who reigns at the chart, earning 12,243.79 points. He is followed by his bandmate V's Love Me Again, ranking second with 8,515.36 points. Meanwhile, the rookie group BABYMONSTER’s FOREVER stands at third spot with a score of 8,305.56 points.
While fulfilling his mandatory military service since December 2023, Jimin has dropped his second solo album through his label BIGHIT MUSIC. The album includes seven tracks—Rebirth: INTRO, Interlude: SHOWTIME, Smeraldo Garden Marching Band (featuring Loco), SLOW DANCE (featuring Sofia Carson), Be Mine, WHO, and Closer Than This.
Notably, it has achieved significant milestones. For instance, it has become the first K-pop album of 2024 to reach the top spot on the UK iTunes Album Chart. This album has also made Jimin the first K-pop solo artist in history to secure multiple top 2 positions on the Billboard 200 chart.
Moreover, the title track of the album MUSE has set a new record as the first solo release by a K-pop artist to exceed 1 million streams on Spotify's US Daily Top Songs Chart.
The Serendipity singer is anticipated to make his return to the public eye when he completes his military service in June 2025.
