BTS members Jimin and j-hope took home major honors at the 2024 Channel R Awards, which was announced on December 21, 2024. The Channel R Awards, renowned for celebrating outstanding contributions to music and entertainment, featured a competitive field this year, but both artists emerged as standout winners.

BTS' Jimin won the Best Solo Artist at Channel R Awards for his 2024 Billboard Global 200 topping song, WHO. He released the song in July 2024 as part of his album MUSE. Within six months, it achieved a significant milestone by hitting 1 billion streams on Spotify, making it the fastest song of 2024 to reach this landmark.

j-hope, another member of BTS, released his album Hope in the Street Vol. 1 in March 2024, with the title track, NEURON. The song's title is based on the dance crew from Gwanju, which he was part of before debuting as a BTS member.

Featuring ten tracks, including the pre-release single, MORE, and the title track, Arson, the album explored themes of ambition, fear, and self-expression. j-hope's experimental approach was evident in the album's raw lyrics and alternative hip-hop influences, reflecting his growth as an artist.

The album's release was complemented by j-hope's solo performance at Lollapalooza 2022, where he became the first South Korean artist to headline the festival in front of 100,000 audience.
