BTS' Jin has been confirmed as the first Torchbearer in the Louvre section for the 2024 Paris Summer Olympics. On July 11, the official Olympic website confirmed the details regarding the singer's schedule for the Olympic Torch Relay.
The BTS vocalist is set to write history as the first K-pop idol or Korean singer to become the runner for the Olympic Torch Relay. On July 11, Jin flew out of South Korea to France through Incheon International Airport for this event.
The official Olympic website announced:
"Jin (real name Kim Seok-jin) will be the first torch bearer in the Louvre section of the torch relay in Paris."

Previously, on July 3, BIGHIT MUSIC confirmed Jin's participation as a relay runner who would spread the message of harmony and peace. On July 12, the Paris 2024 Organization Committee for the upcoming Summer Olympics confirmed that Jin will be running as the first runner in the Louvre section on July 14. This day is celebrated as the French National Day, also known as the Bastille Day.
The Bastille Day is celebrated as one of the country's major revolutionary events, which first took place on July 14, 1790, marking the storming of the Bastille. Jin will join renowned personalities like Gustavo Kuerten, Hortência Marcari, and over 10,000 runners in the event.

It is confirmed that the BTS member will lead the relay in the Louvre section on Sunday, July 14, around 8:30 pm CEST. The Astronaut singer will commence his section at the Louvre Pyramid, one of Paris's significant cultural landmarks.

On July 8, BTS member Jin was announced as the global ambassador of FRED. Through the official social media page, the brand stated:
